well I know that if these guys actually arent going to fight until next summer then both should fight a bum for a tuneup because I dont trust Hatton right now at all and I dont care how good JMM is, 1 fight can change you. He may have lost something against Floyd and I think he should take a tuneup just incase

Since he wasn't exactly punished by the feather-fisted wannabe gangsta, just out-boxed, I'd say it's more than likely he only learned from it. What doesn't kill you, or even really hurt you, just annoys the **** out of you, can only make you stranger.

I don't think JMM lost all that much against Floyd, he did not look totally mentally defeated or like Floyd took his soul.

JMM has been in a lot of wars and you never know when that last straw will breka teh camels back, but either way against Hatton I am confident that JMM has what it takes.

Still, some things are even mental. JMM always held his hat on the fact that despite the L's on his resume, he feels he never really lost. Now he knows he lost one and he didnt win a single round. He also still took some sharp shots. They werent big power punches but they are still stinging blows that could take its effect on an older guy who has been in alot of wars. On top of that he should have 1 fight just to get a feel for 140 anyways.

I for one do like to see people do different things though so I love the thought of JMM fighting Hatton in England. Thats cool to me and I will definatly be watching. Whoever loses needs to hang them up though

People write off marquez cuz of the mayweather fight dont know a thing about boxing, marquez is a legend. I was thinking the other day man... what if part of pacquiaos supremecy right now has to do with how great the competition was from 122 to 130..

It makes me sick to see people not really even talking about him ever since the Mayweather fight. He was taken advantage of in that farce of a fight, big time.

The way people seem to have written him off since that loss really sickens me. So he moved up to Welterweight to fight Floyd and lost a lopsided decision. So what? At least the dude had the balls to take on a task as hefty as that. Half these dudes who lace them up these days wouldn't even have done that.

I know my boy will come back and prove he's still got it.

id rather see marquez do something for his legacy and get a belt at 140 then fight hatton, unless hatton has a belt because if marquez easily beats hatton people will say, well hatton was already done. I think the winner of bradley-peterson would be cool although its a tough ass fight. But i think marquez experience should get him through

Agreed. Marquez has consistently taken on the best possible opponets in his weightclass ever since he got his big break, and moved up to test himself against the very best in other weightclasses as well.

I'm with DLT on this one ; I'd like him to get an easy tune up pre-Hatton, but I really don't think it'll matter.

JMM should just rest, stay in decent shape and let his body recover, because this is pretty much a tune up fight

Tell that to Erik Morales who owned Pac, got shutout by Raheem in a similar fashion to Floyd-JMM and then was straight garbage after that and got KO twice by Pac. Even though for some reason Pac was much larger in the rematches
