    Pac Being Sideways?

Anyone been noticing this? He's been doing it a ton in his last few fights. Alot of times he gets almost directly on his opponents side and throws punches. I saw him do it alot against Oscar & Cotto. Like he is almost right on there left side touching them and he's firing the left down the middle, the right to the side of the head, and they cant stop it. I was thinking that Ive never seen a fighter do that before and I dont really know what to make of it. The opponent seems like they cant defend it. I also think it affects the way they fight because even when they are boxing him straight up at times, he is far to there left. People say dont stand in front of someone but he's literaly way to the side but can still fire the left down the middle and the right to the side of the head. I was wondering if that will work alot against Floyd and can he defend it.

I think the way you defend it is by constantly circling to your left so he cant really be on the side of you and even when he does manage to get close there, you fire the left hook which should be open. Anyone notice this though? Go back and watch even some of his recent highlights, e****ally in those 2 fights. Its so weird. He's so far on there side that if he just like moves a foot then they could probably both be looking at the same direction, like they could both be looking ahead. At that point they cant even seem to counter back because he's not in front of them so they will have to like turn and hit him. Its weird. Has anyone noticed that? IDK if thats awesome or something amatureish that will get him killled against a highly skilled guy

The title of your thread is very racist, if you're thinking about Pacquiao's eyes.

But to answer the thread, Tyson used to do it as well, D'Amato used to drill him on it. It's very effective because first of all, the opponent won't be ready for it because it's a quick step to the side, second of all you can't be countered when you're there, the opponent would have to reach all the way round to counter you, very effective for aggressive fighters with fast feet.

The first time I ever noticed someone do it was in Dirrell-Hanshaw... Dirrell had Hanshaw hurt in the fifth, and when Hanshaw stumbled back into the ropes, Dirrell went to the side and loaded up a HUGE left that almost took Hanshaw's head off. The fight was stopped about 5 seconds later.

It's super effective, like you mentioned, because the opponent has to figure out how to turn and use defense not to get hit before they can even think about trying to create their own offense at that point.

I rememeber seeing Cus work with Mike in the gym. I remember Mike firing off all this blistering fast combos then quickly stepping or almost jumping to the side and firing off a million more blistering combos. Its a little different though because Pac is a lefty and Mike is kind of crouching into you and digging into you while Pac is kind of leaning and looking for angles to shoot it with
