with a trainer who is not afraid to guide cotto, he is still the ebest out there who is equipped to bust the phillipino bubble. a rematch should be made!!
how did cotto win round 2? he tried to box and was getting beat up.

he barely won round 1 and pacquiao didn't really do anything in round 1.

cotto won 3 rounds max out of 12 rounds.... 1 round min out of 12 rounds.
      he won 1.

some people give cotto round 5 but he got his ass kicked in round 5 too.

it's just some people gave 5 to cotto because he didn't get dropped like he did in round 3 and 4.

You say he fought ******ly; he fought the only way he could against the speed and power he was facing. He fought well until Manny started letting his hands go. Everyone's got a plan until they get hit.
        exactly............

Sure he started trading with Pac and in that exchange is where he got whacked. If he had Mayweathers reach he could have tried to counter punch from a distance, but when both guys have the same range you can't throw left and right hooks throw hooks without risking to get one yourself.

Now to exaggerate, a fighter like Paul Williams can try to exchange punches from a distance because he will land and Pac won't. Cotto had to stick with the jab until Manny was on the ropes or hurt. And Cotto failed to land same repeated shots on the same area when he hurt Manny.

round 1 only. round 5 could go either way but it seemed cotto was more affected by exchanges though.

Cotto needs a break and a new trainer and needs to stop drinking and partying all the time. And if he continues with Santiago then he would be better off retiring. A rematch with Pacman won't happen unless Cotto comes back impressively at least two or three more fights maybe the winner of Mosley and Berto. And if it does happen he needs to use his head this time cause he looked like a deer caught in headlights.
