Look how much more praise pacman gets for beating the same boxer pbf did... floyd is a true BOXER, he plays chest with his oppenents. To me none of his fights are boring, because i am watching a master at work, out classing his opposition. Just give the man his credit .
You're right floyd is a great boxer technician. but all that is good for the olympics and amateur boxing where you go in there to make points. you become a pro to become a legend. and in pro boxings the legends aren't define on how well ur footwork is or how good u throw a three or four punch combo. but on who u beat and how u beat them. some of the greatest boxers of all time weren't very good technically. but they went out there and put it out on the line and beat the best of their time. in my opinion mayweather hasn't done that yet. in my opinion if money beats manny good for him give him credit but he needs to step up and beat the real tests that don't ask for catchweight cause theyre so small. like mosley, cotto, margarito, berto, williams. he beats even two of those then he can call him self ONE of the best of our time. cause trust me he fights oscar in his prime no way he beats oscar. manny and mayweather both fought oscar on the downside of his career. so i don't think mayweather is the best but he can be ONE of the best. he isn't yet. manny needs to settle the score with marquez, then fight mosley and finish his career with mayweather, if he meats marquez and mosley of course.

Floyd was dominant until he stepped up to 140-147. At that point he looked dominant against opponents that had no chance anyways. I would say two or three years before De la Hoya was shaky for Floyd. I like Judah and Gatti, but they don't match up to the name's on Pac's resume. He took 18 months off when Pacquiao stepped up in weight and showed everyone who's best.

Pacquiao is hands down the fighter of the decade. If the decade ended in 2003, I might give it to Floyd, but Hopkins or Mosley (before the Forrest losses) are better candidates.

      • Floyd Mayweather - One of the greatest boxers ever live

Thank you Floyd, I am from the Caribbean and I have been following your career from its inception and I am still impressed with your accomplishments and performances. You exhibit longevity in your career. look at some recent Olympians - their boxing careers are very short. Your career as a champion and World-class fighter has been so long. The haters are truly looking for a fighter to beat you. There are no white hopes around today so any other race beside black will do. When will the World respect one of the greatest that ever lace-up a boxing glove. The guy is great. Plain and simple. Accept it.

        Josiah.

          • The one thing Mayweather will never understand is, he gets disrespected, becuase he never shows any respect. Name one fighter Floyd has ever respected before the fight, and kept his mouth shut. Pac has a 5th grade education, but exudes class at all times. He never disrespects his opponent, and smiles all the way to the ring. If Floyd wants the respect he deserves, shut-up and let your fists do the talking. Michael Jordan never had to tell the world how great of a baller he was, he showed it on the court. His six rings, was all the talking he needed to do. Floyd on the other hand, wants the world to believe he's the greatest ever, without fighting the best. I have read a few of the blogs here, and the career of Pac, surpasses the career of Floyd. If we list the best 3 victories of each one's career, Floyd's would be an undefeated Corrales, (who was 6'0 tall and had to come down 5 pounds to make the fight at 130) an undefeated Hatton, and De la hoya. On the other hand Pac's would be Cotto, a true welter, Marquez, and Barrera, the 1st fight. These 3 are all 1st ballot HOF"s. In Floyd's case, the only guarantee is Oscar. Floyd is insecure, and the jealousy is starting to show. If he wants to be regared as the best, and gets the repects he deserves, then step up and fight the best, and not the most marketable fighter. Fight Mosely, Clottey, Pac, or Cotto. You've been a welterweight for over 4 years and still have not fought a top 5 opponent. Also, the argument of racism, or favortism, is a lie. I am a black man with 30 years experience of watching boxing. If you want the respect Floyd, show some. Also, if you want to continue to make 10+ million for each fight, then get in there and fight. Don't expect a fan to pay $60 for a PPV(with taxes) and get a fight like the one with Baldomir, or De la Hoya. The law of the street is, to get respect, you have to give it, and Floyd needs to respect Pac's achievements!

dont forget that floyd beat marq at a catchweight of 144...

then who is floyd fighting next??? dmitry salita??? gtfo!!
