agree. they should have stopped the fight after round 9. it was clear to that point he was not gonna win. and it is not as if he was just being outboxed. he was getting hurt with those shots.

i understand that they wanted cotto to make it to the final bell, but it wasn't worth risking someone getting maimed or even killed.

Obviously a fighter is never going to say in front of a camera that he wants to quit. The corner needs to be smart enough to pick up on it. Once Cotto started running that should have been clue enough for the corner. Cotto's father picked up on it and yelled at the corner to stop the fight, I think after the 9th.

It's reminiscent of Oscar when his corner kept asking him, and Oscar kept silent but finally had to give them the hint by raising his eyebrows.

Dont feel bad for cotto at all cause at the end of the day hes the one to blame. He wanted santiago as his trainer not the other way around most likely so he can do what he wanted, like mike tyson when he fired kevin rooney and hired aaron snowell who at the time had no experience as a trainer and soon after tyson got the asswhoopin of his life. Cotto plans on fighting again and keeping santiago which is ****in crazy imo, i guess he plans on taking a beating again.
