Cotto Refuses To Entertain a Rematch With Margarito

In My opinion Cotto should face at least 2 well skilled boxers of the division but with little punching power so he can work on his defense and hopefully bring somebody to his corner that can teach him those defensive skills that he needs to work on.
Off the top of my mind I beleive Collazo can be a very good comback opponent because he is a quick busy guy but not a strong puncher. 2 fighters like that and then he should be back facing the top guns of the division.

If Cotto would have fought Margarito on Saturday, he probably would
not have even made it out of the ring. I always said and a lot of you
on here know it, the way to beat Cotto is either with pressure, defense
or take away his punch all together and he is yours. Margarito did it and
so did Pacquiao. Once Cotto saw that he couldn't hurt neither, what
happened? He lost. I even said before the fight with Manny (Eventhough
I picked Cotto) is that the fight will not ball down to speed, it will be who
will be able to hurt who and take the most punishment and apparently
to my surprise Manny was the tougher of the two. Pressure is Cotto's
kryptonite. Watch both the Margarito and Pacquiao fight with Cotto
and see that the similiarities to their game plans. Margarito let Cotto
hit him and he just kept coming. Pacquiao let Cotto hit him and think it
wasn't hurting and kept coming BOTH times Cotto folded under pressure.
Before Cotto steps back in the ring he has to get his act together because
he is not getting better and time is ticking and he is getting demolished
as the competition gets tougher. He has the skills but like I have always
been saying about Cotto "He is a work in progress". I wish nothing but
the best for Miguel Cotto.

make this fight happen already... where is cotto gonna get more $$ than facing margarito... regardless of what happened in the past, there is no absolute concrete evidence margarito cheated vs cotto.. or for that fact vs mosley, cause the argument was "plasterlike" substances.. not plaster.. and plus antonio was suspended before they even had the evidence, which also was not provided at the hearing, it was all he said, she said situation.. i mean you all want to blame margarito.. why dont you blame cotto's corner.. for not sending or not carerully inspecting the wraps..

with cotto i saw this happening sooner or later.. he's got good defense but he also likes to slug.. and well margarito is a slugger.. cheating or not cheating.. bombs to the body in the early rnds (which ****** comentators fail to recognize and give credit to) would eventually take it's toll.. he could of cruised to a SD or UD.. but his corner didnt advise him otherwise.. there's plenty of blame to go around for everything..

make margarito/cotto 2 happen, that's the only way this will be settled.. and for the PR people who say "he's not making another penny on cotto's name" i was there live in vegas... and as far as i know the arena was 60/40 margarito fans.. and he did sell 21000 (somekind of record at staples center) so make it happen.. i would say about the only demand cotto can probably get away with is.. having the fight in atlantic city...

cotto needs a new trainer and then he needs 2-4 tune up fights against c level opponents to gel with his new trainer.

Another thing about Cotto is that he is very stubborn and has so much
pride. If we knew that he needed a new corner, I'm sure he did to but
just thought he was that good to pull it off because he feels he is a heavy
hitter and likes to train himself. Cotto has to focus on the business side
of his career and well being for awhile before he fights again because
obviously, Arum is not looking out for Cotto AT ALL.

Until Miguel Cotto improves as a fihter/Boxer all around. Margarito will
whip him everytime they fight. I said when the fight was first announce
that Margarito was going to beat Cotto but everybody thought I was
crazy because Cotto was the hype when he was undefeated but I saw
his flaws. Margarito/Cotto have the same pressure style but Margarito
just was the stronger man. The way to beat Margarito is to box him
and neutralize his pressure and momentum like Williams and Mosley did.
I didn't know before the fight that Margarito even used Plaster so I just
called the fight because I saw how rugged Margarito was and how Ballsy
Cotto was. Cintron hit Margarito with bombs and Margarito walked him
down and put him out with a body punch at that. Now we speculate
that he had Plaster during the Cotto fight but Mararito style trumps
Cotto style 10 times out of 10 if Cotto doesn't improve and get a lil
more tecnical minded, quick witted and spontaneous in the ring. Aside
from Margarito alledgy having plaster, Cotto fought the wrong fight.
If Arum wants the Cotto that fought Pacquiao to fight Margarito then
Cotto is going to get brutally beat up again.

My friend did you forget that once your face is damged to the magnitud it was damaged against Margarito from there on you will swell easier in the future. If you look at the punishment recived from Mosley and Judah (which was plenty) it never had Cotto face swollen, cut yes, but not swollen and Mosley is suppose to be a harder puncher than Margarito. The fact is that after Margarito (plaster or not) Cotto face will be vurneable to be swollen doesn't matter who he faces an yes, without the plaster like Paquiao did.

...what's sad about this is not one of you guys know anything about plaster...plaster is rock hard but very brittle...and if Margarito had plaster in his gloves eventually it would start breaking up into little pieces and everytime he hit cotto it would be like having pebbles in his gloves...get a plastic bag, put some gravel in it, then put your hands in the bag, tape it up and start punching a heavy bag...eventually you couldn't throw a punch anymore because of the pebbles digging into your knuckles...the thought of this is silly and only someone that is completely ignorant to the mechanics of plaster would believe such a bs story...
