Such a typical response, it's almost Pavlovian.

Williams has gone on record to say he was identified with shingles after the Sam fight, a fight he was expected to win handily. Granted they did underestimate Sam, but if they met ten times, I'd pick Danny to beat him seven of them.

yes that's true he did say that, sam is a fairly powerful but limited fighter, gomez and krisniqi showed that

Williams is a B type fighter and he did win the Tyson fight by luck. He was almost out in round one. Tyson needs to stop listening to Roach and go for an early KO, there is no point of him getting more rounds in fights. He needs to scare the **** out of his opponents like he used to in the past. Hopefully he will knockout McBride.
McBride was the pick before Williams offered to fight him for less, knowing how shot Tyson was. I gather that the board objected to McBride as he's such a stiff they thought Mike was taking the piss. So he's gone back to someone he was due to fight before Williams. Someone who is less of a threat.

As for "bad luck", this is just typical Tyson excuses. Williams wasn't "almost out" - he was badly stunned and held, then after about 15-20 seconds had his senses back.

Granted, Williams is B class, but who in the current heavyweight divison (other than Tua, Vit and Toney) ISN'T??

I tell you what gets me about the way Tyson lovers slate Danny and go on about "luck" and how Danny is just a "bum" and so on...

While Danny Williams will never achieve what Tyson did in the ring, his history has shown that he will always go down fighting. He was still ready to go on after over seven rounds of solid pummelling from Klitschko. Say what you like about Tyson and Danny, there is no way Danny Williams would sit down on the canvas and "pretend to get up" after voluntarily allowing the ref to count him out.

williams has a lot of heart, he was even pissed of when the corner retired him from the sam fight, this is a guy who will keep going until he is either stopped or knocked out cold, you have to appreciate courage like that

Yeah - and while he'll never be WBC champ, that kind of fighter is what the current division could do with more of. I still have to wonder how he'd do against Ruiz or Brewster....

Byrd and Ruiz would destroy Danny Williams. I don't know about Brewster, the guy is the worst fighter I have seen in a while. I think he qualifies to be a C class fighter, haha.

to say he brings nothing to the sport, is insulting, wrong and downright ignorant.

he showed more bravery against Klitschko than Ive seen from many fighters, in fact that coupled with his dislocation in the potter fight where he fought for 4 rounds with a dislocated shoulder mean he should at least be shown respect.

He is also a nice guy ive met him a few times.

His bravery and heart cannot not be questioned.

Least of all by some little internet geek who doesnt know his arsole from his elbow.

                show some respect.

Danny Williams fought to land one big punch and was out of shape thats why VK pounded him.

Byrd would DESTROY Williams? Granted, I can see the possibility of Danny being bamboozled by Byrd's slickness, but if Vitali couldn't KO Danny after over seven rounds then what makes you think Byrd could?

Ruiz - I'd give Danny 50-50 on that. Danny DOES have one-punch KO power, although he didn't get to demonstrate that in either of his big matches.
