Miguel Angel Cotto before the Pac fight is considered as one of the strongest hitters in the welterweight division. For the first 5 rounds Manny is testing that supposed to be "power advantage" of Cotto to gauge if it's true thats why he is not recklessly attacking him in the early rounds. When manny already knew that he can take Cotto's best punch, he walk him down and started to brutalized him and we all know what haappened.
Now, in comparision to PBF... his not known to be a "power puncher" but a slick and savvy technician. Knowing that, Manny will not boxed Floyd, Manny will try to Brawl with him coz he knows that Floyd has "No KO" threat to put him at bay and thats the only way to win againts Floyd by attacking him relentlessly and make him fight every second of every round the whole night. GET IT?!

When was the last time PBF fought againts a Brawler/Puncher/Boxer like Pac??? Those Floyd counters will work againts a slow and dumbed opponents like most of the fighters he ever fought in the past... but not againts a guy who is fast or even faster than him with weird angles and a megaton of aggression and stamina. If you have less threat for your opponents, then he will begins to attacked break your defense down without minding your counters bcoz it can't hurt.
At the same time, Floyd is "One-Dimensional", he always runs in all of his Fights. Fredie and Manny need not to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.
