A few tweaks in the gameplan, and a good number of fighters, like P. Will, and Cotto would've beaten Margarita, that's all there's to it.
No, you just are an extremist, P Williams fought Marg and won but was beat up in the process. Cotto landed shot after shot vs Marg and couldn't KO him. Cintron, who is a heavy puncher landed clean shots and couldn't KO Marg.

It's ok that you hate Marg, I get that but just don't let that influence your thought process. If you do, you fall in line with the rest of the posters here and that's not a good place to be.

Let me make a correction. I knew P-Will beat Margarita, but, I think, if P-Will would've applied the same Mosley tactic, I don't think the fight would've have been as competitive.

Same thing with Cotto, I don't think he would've dominated Margarita had he applied the same gameplan that Shane used on the cheater, but, it would've been an easier fight for Cotto and won!

No doubt about it, Margarita can take a f**kin' bat to his chin. But, it takes more than just a hard punch to stop Margarita. It's about applying the right plan, and so far Shane has been the only one to do so. If you don't have a stiff jab, the only other way to go is to apply the hit and clinch, unless you have the stamina to stick and move all night long.

Margarita is such a simple fighter, he has no jab to speak of. A terrific chin, hard puncher, with great stamina, lacks mobility. C'mon now.

I give Shane full credit for beating Margarito.

Shane is a great fighter. He never had great defense, but his chin is solid and great 'power boxing'. I think he was down once in his career during the first Vernon Forrest fight from a solid right (after monstrous headbut in the same round).

At his prime in LW, WW he would have beaten Floyd. Unfortunately, IMO, Floyd Jr. would UD him if they fight in 2010.

I'm tellin' y'all. Shane vs. Floyd would not even be competitive, it would look similar to Floyd - JMM, believe that.

Shane these days, is all about landing that one - punch. If you don't come at Shane, he has difficulty getting his punches off. Mayorga's awkwardness proved it.

When was the last time Floyd was the aggressor in a fight? Floyd will definitely not do any leading against Shane.

Didn't Floyd's "ducking" of Margarito have something to do with his desire to opt out of his promotional contract with Arum? Wasn't the Marg offer a ploy to keep Floyd under contract with Arum, kind of like him throwing Cotto a bone in the form of a fight with Pacquiao in order to get him to renew his contract?

What does this have to do with the current discussion?

and, yes, there's a good possibility Shane loses to Berto(If Berto doesn't do anything silly, he may very well UD Shane). But, I think Shane just needs to land that bomb on Berto and it's either gonna be la la land for Andre, or it's the beginning of a beat-down.

That's what a recent article mentions, but, wasn't Floyd still with Arum when he fought Baldomir ?
