    MIGUEL COTTO- official appreciation thread.

im 17,i'm a very very big fan of pacquiao and im a filipino,

but right after pac won by tko i really pity miguel cotto.

-first he was the champ but he was the underdog.
-miguel got the worst beating in his entire career, being drop twice early by a guy coming up in weight.
-miguel came out confident, willing to give his best but end up surprised by pac speed and power and chin.
-pac didnt even respect cotto's power.showing gestures saying "c'mon, bring it on".
-he was booed by the crowd for running backwards in the late rounds for survival..

i really pitied him when he ask joe santiago this line.
    "there's one more left right?".

    before the round 12 started.
i almost drop a tear for him.
i felt like he dont deserve that beating.and how i wish it wouldve been someone else there.

i will always love and respect miguel cotto more than anyone else that pac has fought..

i hope he doesnt retire soon.and will continue to give us exciting fights.

    what a heart!Miguel is Warrior!

He was definitiely one of the most overated fighters of our time.
he's got a big ego which is bigger than his ability.
The guy makes ****** mistakes,he gets a rubbish coach,he tells the coach what to do and he gets clipped.

I talk a lot of **** about Cotto based on his **** talking Stans. Who now happen to be in STFU Mode .

Cotto is a warrior. No doubt. I don't think he wanted to quit vs Pac. He was just asking how many rounds were left.

He's never in a boring fight. Gives me my money's worth. Mad props.
Hope he gets a good rest and enjoys that $$$ he got.

I totally disagree with your that statement about being OVERATED. He got beat by Margocheato and the P4P champ and he beat everybody else he fought professionally. So what you talking about bro!

his not overated..all his career he was underrated. but surely he has proven a lot of what he can..
now,he has the filipino fan's respect coz he respect pac too..
most of pac's opponent talk **** before the fight but cotto never did even if he can do something out there..

First of all he is not overrated at all he was considered by many as the best welterweight who fought anybody. What happened sat. night was just well f'n amazing the second knockdown destroyed his confidence because I think he was thinking yeah i can **** with him and tak him out them boom the punch from hell came. Took a lot of courage just to get up from that. Santiago did a terrible job but cotto should have adapted and he didn't pacquiao was just better plain and simple. When he took those brutal punches early and it didn't faze him that killed cotto's confidence too. I"m a big cotto fan and always will be he was what boxing needs more of. Pacman is just a fighter that is just out of this world. The fans need the fight to happen pacman vs. floyd. MAKE IT HAPPEN. And i am a fan of cottos that says to retire he's a shot fighter i don't want something like a fregin gatti fight where he loses to some scrub. Miguel you gave your fans and fight fans great years and great fights move on and god bless you are a warrior and a hall of famer. Thanks for the memories

The thing with Cotto is that he has a good resume, he hasn't ducked anyone and has only 2 losses one to the best P4P guy out there in Pacquiao and the other is a big ?

ugh most Cotto fans gave Pacquiao nothing but respect.. there was less **** talk on the forum for this fight then for any of the last major fights... So I really don't know what you are talking about.. You are just a bitter Mexican who is angry because his boyfriend was caught cheating.

i hope cotto doesn't stay in this game longer than he needs to, the pacman fight and the clottey and ssm fights should have given him a nice little retirement fund by now.

i still think he has alot to offer the sport and would love to see him rematch and revenge margarito. imo he might need a fight against someone outside the top 10, then m if he comes through that a fight with collazo or hatton would make sense. then if he comes through that he can think about taking on the best at WW again.

however i do think he needs a new trainer, someone like manny steward would work well with him. if i remember correctly there was rumours of manny being interested before the pacman fight. ai think a few years under manny would allow him to develop his all round game.

over rated? because Miguel Cotto loses to Pacquiao, a guy who's clearly shown his greatness and a guy who may have had plaster in his wraps, he is over rated?
least he had the balls to fight all the top names... unlike the coward in your siggy.
what good is it to be undefeated if you aint fighting the best. ****.
