Floyd is right, if he wins he wont be given the credit he deserves for doing so but instead criticized for some lame reason. The fight will be made, we all know that and then these guys can give us a real show. FYI - Winging punches at Floyd will be Pac's downfall....
People and fans alike don't care about money being an impediment, we're here to be entertained not act as if we're promoters discussing business dealings. Floyd fans tend to relegate themselves to one argument....Floyd is the draw and it's about money. You're either a fan of boxing and want to see the best competing against the best, or just a fanboy using any argument(money) to curtail any meaningful fight for Floyd, speaking in generalities here not towards anyone specific.Comment

Regardless what anybody says this is the fight that everybody wants to see. Floyd can downplay it as much as he wants but right now after this peformance Manny is the sure #1 p4p fighter. This is the sure money fight for both guys. Now all of the sudden Pac is to small (but Marquez wasn't), he lost twice (never mind that Baldomir had 12 loses and Judah freshly came off a loss against Carlos) or simply the guy is not unbeaten ( which hasn't stopped him before of taking a fight)Comment

Wow, Grustler shut down both this thread and alot of the foolish talk against Floyd. The only thing that hinders some of the arguments is that the links don't work. I do believe you found them however, and those were some great quotes. There is no running from history, no matter how we want to slant things after the fact. You also made some excellent points, and I'll look out for your input on the boards in the future.
anymore but I did post the quotes and links on my Boxingscene profile
a while ago so maybe they changed something about the ESPN site.
All in all, when it comes to Floyd all I read is the same BS without
hard facts to back it up and I'm about the truth not propaganda.
I don't agree or cosign everything Floyd does but I don't agree with
everything people say because there are always two side to a coin
and story. As soon as a person come with hard facts or an unbias
opinion then he is a stan, nuthugger or whatever else? Sometimes
I feel like I'm back in Public School with some of these guys. Anyways
Thanks for the prospects and respect and sure we chop it up again
soon.

Except Manny is widely regarded as an all time great, as it stands now Floyd is just seen as future HOF'er, by most boxing scribes/historians including Bert Sugar. Either way by virtue of accomplishments Manny ranks ahead of Floyd as it stands currently.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 11-16-2009, 02:28 PM.Comment
