they both have solid resumes, but I agree that Marquez win was a load of bollocks though, Marquez was looking heavy at 135, he was a FW, to make him fight at 147 is a travesty. He looked heavy, slow, and had no power.

Had they fought at 130, Mayweather wins a close decision in a competitive fight. At least I would think so.

Boxer/Puncher, Brawler/Slugger, Swarmers/In-fighter, Counter punchers?
This is not an appropriate question to ask since most of the people on this site only know what has taken place in boxing in the last two years. Mayweather started his career in 1996, so the majority of the people on this site, especially the haters, would know nothing about the styles of the some of the top notch fighters Mayweather fought prior to his fights with De La Hoya and Hatton. Also, since 90 percent of Pacquaio's fights did not appear on television and two-thirds were fought in the Phillipines against guys who never fought top-quality opposition in boxing, it would be difficult to assess his opponents also.

uhhm. i dont think u understood the question. it wasnt who fought more versetaille fighters, it was who fought more diffrent styles. read the question again.

pac only fights ppl who will stand right in front of him, only takes on guys who are looking to overpower him. floyd has taken on all types of fighters. the closest thing to a pure boxer on pacs resume is JMM, who isnt really a pure boxer. just has a bit more boxing skills than the average mexican warrior, but hes a mexican warrior none the less. coming to take you out. pac never fought nobody looking to use their legs, box and rack up on points.

guzman, raheem, campbell, casamayor, mayweather etc.. plenty of oportunities but arum saved him each time. too many fighters to attempt an excuse, arum cherry picks pacs oponents to fit his style. floyd fights any style and adapts, which is the mark of a great fighter.

I just read the thread ttile which asked who fought the more versatile competitioon.

My answer is Pacquiao.Morales,Marquez,Barrerra,Ledwaba all were very good at using they're feet and he fought themseveral times. How do you think Morales beat him the first time or Marquez tried to do?Even Barrera,Ledwaba and Sanchez.
Either way there is no way you can find more versatile competitioon on Mayweather's record.

floyd fought mexican style fighters, not on the same level as pacquiao but still quality guys (chavez, hernandez, castillo etc). show me a slick southpaw on pacs resume, a zab judah.

the guys u mentioned have solid footwork but they are not pure boxers. pac never fought a pure boxer.

Chavez and Hernandez were basic pressure fighters.Castillo could move on the backfoot but not with the elite competitoon.
Zab Judah is only ''slick'' for the ring walks. His defense has always been leaky and his stamina questiobalbe the very least.
Cotto who beat him and I didn't even mention him is a more versatile fighter than him.

Name me a pure boxer Mayweather has fought.

JMM twice at his best weights is the closest thing.

That alone is more than Mayweather.
