Not exactly, it is kind of a mutually beneficial relationship Floyd gets to use Golden Boys resources to premote his fights (for a fee of course) and Golden Boy gets to be involved in his events which are always big events.

I think Floyd could dump Golden Boy but they have done good business together so why mess with that relationship if they are doing right by him.

He is certainly aligned with Golden Boy though.

Floyd has a co-promotion deal with Golden Boy for a certain amount if fights (I think it is three)... So it would make sense for Floyd to send Schaeffer to negotiate with Arum who is on good terms with him then Floyd him self and Elerbee or Haymon to sit down with him who All Arums dislikes

I believe Golden Boy takes a rate based on work done, while Arum takes a cut.

You could say Floyd is outsourcing the promotion of his fights to Golden Boy.

Because Mayweather Promotions is not a licensed promotional company in las vegas which means its not really a real boxing promotional company much like rappers with their own little record companies but in reality its nothing, they are carried by the major record labels. Just something to massage their ego.
