Schaefer has been working on Floyd's behalf for a while now, Schaefer is a good business man and knows how to get things done.

Floyd being involved with Golden Boy makes Golden Boy a lot of money and helps to make up for the loss of Oscar.

Floyd has a co-promotion deal with Golden Boy for a certain amount if fights (I think it is three)... So it would make sense for Floyd to send Schaeffer to negotiate with Arum who is on good terms with him then Floyd him self and Elerbee or Haymon to sit down with him who All Arums dislikes

It was made pretty clear when the Marquze fight was announced that Schaefer would be part of whatever plan Mayweather had, why would Floyd give him a "list" (real or not) if he was not going to be part of future fights. Schaefer and Mayweather working together was made clear right there.

now it looks like schaefer is included in that. Floyd probably isnt, since he works for goldenboy.

Because he is a good negotiator , considering just how much pull Golden Boy has in boxing its a pretty smart choice , and I also think that Floyd had to maybe cut some sort of a deal to secure the Oscar fight .
