    All right people...

I know this will piss people off but oh well...First off I want to say congratulations to Manny Pacquiao on his victory last night, he did what he had to do to win. I picked Cotto to win but in the back of my mind I had doubts. Manny is definitely one of the top fighters of the last decade. That being said, I've been hearing a lot of crazy stuff today that really any true boxing fan I think would agree with me, is quite disrespectful to some of the legends of our sport. "Manny Pacquiao Top Ten ATG", or things like "Manny is God" as well as "Manny Pacquiao, Greatest of All Time". Seriously people; Come on. You can't be considered one of the greatest if all your most noticeable accomplishments came against past their prime fighters or guys who are a shell of their former selves. I give Manny credit , he has accomplished many things like the belts in seven weight-classes... Though no one can argue with me on the point that if he wasn't fighting in this day and age, this feat would have been impossible, therefore it is overrated. Back in the day there were half the amount of weight-classes, so manny would have had to literally go though practically every single weight division from bottom to top. Impossible. The media as well as the sport of boxing is desperate to crown the next king, and people are getting caught up in all the hype. In a day and age where you have an inflated amount of weight-classes, a ridiculous about of belts, catch-weight fights for titles, etc., it's really hard to compare a fighters achievements to someone from the days of yesteryear. To compare Manny Pacquiao to Henry Armstrong is just ludicrous and I find it disrespectful. Guys like Robinson, Armstrong, and even Ali along with their accomplishments, should not be taken lightly. What they've done for the sport should not be forgotten so easily. I'll repeat Manny deserves credit for what he's accomplished, but so do the true legends of the sport. Manny's on the right path but he's still got a ways to go.

Can someone tell me who were the fighters that manny won the 7 titles against? Besides Cotto. Just curious.

Pac is an ATG. Where exactly, I dunno. I don't care either. No he ain't GOAT. But he on the list somewhere. Nobody posts their whole list when these discussions come up. It's all subjective anyway.

pac along with the modern greats will have a standard of their own..

plus its a subjective matter, of which you cannot fully cancel out others opinion, just like your opinion of pacs stature with his achievements..

a healthy discussion can be done.. but thats about it..
because if yours can be swayed just by reading others opinion or that you find them offensive..it reflects to ones own insecurities about the matter

winning 7 titles in itself is a rarity that deserves commendation.
the opponents resume on each of those title is another.

I agree that they will have a standard of their own, that is why one must disagree profoundly, when Pacquaio is compared with All time Legends like the ones I mentioned. What do I have to be insecure about? I am not an All time Great. Many people will agree with me just as I know Pac fans like yourself will disagree whole-heartedly. My opinion

how is it a disgrace to put pac alongside the top15 ATG???

oh please, list your top 10-20 and explain each of their positions' merits and compare to pac. we can nitpick each fighters resume, yes, even them old school fighters. i bet you dont even have a list.
