Ah, I always pick who I want to win, then differentiate between who I want to win. Example, I'd want Judah to beat Toney but no way in hell it'd happen, obviously.
James Toney vs John Ruiz

I don't think the weight should be a problem. They've said he wants to come in at the same weight he was vs Booker (he looked very solid I thought).
If his target is around 227, and he's 240 now, that's not a problem with almost 4 weeks until the fight.
Ruiz said he's going to come in around 240, which may be a bit Heavy for him.Comment

I am not going to count Ruiz out in this one, but I think Toney has the ability to defeat Ruiz's hit'n'hug style. Toney is a good inside fighter and I think he should be able to keep Ruiz off him barely enough to land some big inside shots to the body and upercuts to the head.Comment

how the heck is toney a phoney.Originally posted by deuskieI never said that I like Ruiz. I hate the guy, he sucks. I don't like Toney either, hes a phoney. When it comes to picking who will win, I will go with Ruiz, because I think he can win, not because I enjoy his fights.
he's won 8 world titles.
look at his record, he's a future hall of famerComment

Are you serious, Toney is planning on weighing in at 227? He looked fat at 217 versus Holyfield and now he's gonna come in 10 lbs. heavier?
At least his fans don't have to worry about him ever pulling a Rid**** and losing weight too quickly. If he ever ballooned up to 290 lbs, he'd just say "**** it" and step into the ring like that.Comment

You don't know what you're talking about. Toney looked very solid and strong at 227:

I think Jones busted his nose in that fight. He got hit with a good right in the early rounds.Originally posted by Bozo_no_noJust wondering what your take is on this fight?
Assuming James Toney is in at least the same shape he was vs. Booker, I think this is his fight to lose. The only thing I see stopping him is agravating an injury.
Ruiz has stated he's going to look to use his size and reach advantage to try and jab and keep Toney on the outside (
) If he does this, he's doomed for trying to stray from what he's good at. If he does what he's good at, he's going to get hit with some flush shots he won't see coming on the way in. Fear of getting hit on the way in is what seemed to spell disaster for him in the Jones fight.
I think Toney will make him pay if he lunges in (along with beating on his kidneys) and pick him apart and break him down.
Toney doesn't fight like Roy, though, so it might be a better thing for Ruiz. I hope Toney wins, though, even though I can't stand him.
Kid_Achilles, your avatar sucks ass.Comment

Okay, I'll admit it. He actually does look a lot better in those pics then he did at 217. He really bulked up.
With that said, it's not gonna help him against Ruiz. He may be stronger in the clinches but his stamina is going to suffer. The guy is a natural middleweight carrying around 70 extra pounds. Even though a lot of that is muscle, it's going to be weighing him down towards the end of the fight.Comment

LOL at you man. Megadeth? The drunken spawn of a crappy band of whiners. Compared to the Pistols, Megadeth is a footnote in music history.Comment
