Pac fought Cotto because both fighters are owned by Arum. He put the cards in Pac's favor and made the fight happen.

Arum himself admitted that Cotto is NOT ready for Mayweather, and when the Cotto hype was strong, he NEVER requested a fight with Mayweather.



Above you will see Arum state that Cotto is not ready for Mayweather. When Cotto finally became ready, he never dared to mention Floyd's name. He would say, "talk to my boss Arum", and Arum NEVER asked for a fight to happen.

You gave credit to Pac for fighting fights the public wants to see, but you won't give Mayweather credit for fighting Pacquiao, which is the fight EVERYONE wants to see.

You said even if Mayweather fights Pacquiao, that Pacquiao will get more credit since he fought Cotto... A fighter who was scared to mention Floyd's name.

Don't forget Valero, Guzman, Raheem, and numerous others all called out Pacquiao. Pacquiao ducked them and fought Larios, Solis, and other bums before waiting for the big guys to become shot and he still needed to drain them.
