Seriously. The pop on his punches were gone, after the knockdown in round 2 he just seemed like he had nothing. I mean, he was landing some nice looping shots and body shots, but he had no sting to them at all. Only in the first round was he throwing with authority, i was almost puzzled as to how this happened to him so quickly. I know pac took his best shots, which was outstanding, but im talking strictly from Miguels perspective. What happened to him after the 2nd round? I swear he looked shot after that knockdown. Pacmans power either really did a number on him or he lost it mentally (cuz of pac). i dont know, i was just suprised to see that.

Personally I thought it was after round 5, near the end of round 5 Pacquiao landed a huge body shot that had Cotto dropping his hands and moving backwards, after that Cotto just started to retreat and looked like he was running on empty. He was having a pretty good round 5 up to that point too. And I think it was the 6th round when I first noticed Cotto start to breathe through his mouth.

The knockdown in the second was the match changer. That shot that Miguel didn't see really is the definition that one punch can change a fight. That shot would of kayoed most fighters btw.

When you are knocked down it takes something out of you. Especially someone of Cottos durability to be put down it must have been a great punch.
And then youve got to deal with that speed and elusiveness and everything else after you just got off the floor. Its not easy to fight on.

That's what happens when you get knocked down.

cotto thought he could trade with pac and not get hurt but he must have been surprised at pac's power after the 2nd knockdown . That shot probably took some of the fight out of him

i thought it was pretty close until after the 6th, Pac just plain-old-fashioned beat the fight out him.

This is simple. Too ****ing simple. Cotto felt Manny's power and didn't want any of it. That's why he lost power. He has to plant his feet to get power behind his shots. He couldn't do it.

I agree with this poster, no power in cotto's punch n it's just not like him to lose strength so early in the fight... Too much weight loss?... poisoned?... it is vegas n they will rig anything for a dollar unfortunately.
