Nah Cotto still got plenty of fight left, he should step away from the boxing game and rest, and come back with a better corner/trainer.

I'm not familiar with broken nose scare but Manny broke Marquez nose too and look happened. He was on winning spree until making a bad decision moving up fighting a heavier Floyd. I think needs a new trainer, that uncle-nephew quarrel might have really affected his training regimen as I have thought before. He's still a force to reckon with. A dangerous opponent to anybody except maybe Pac. So he gotta move on. Wish him well.

Spiting blood by the sixth round ......not good....shows a terrible weakness...

I guess I will have to wait till cotto{s next fight...

but I am very happy for manny win, he definitely erased any doubts regarding DLH and hatton.

what's there to doubt in pac's win over hatton?

hatton got caught with a power punch and was out cold. that's all there is to it.

Cotto needs to get a new trainer and take about one year off from fighting. He has been in too many wars in a short amount of time. His body has clearly detereorated in the past 2 years. His skin puffs up and cuts a lot easier than it use to and his energy level just isnt there. Maybe for this fight the weight had something to do with it combined with fatigue of fighting top knotch opposition back-to-back lately. Compare the Cotto of lately, even the one that fought Mosley to the when he had just moved up to welter...he was a machine physically.

if you break your nose and can control the bleeding and are still able to breath somewhat then yea you can keep fight..

cotto bleeds profusely through his nose when its broken...if you can't breathe through your nose as a fighter you cannot win. that is all.

IMO, he shouldn't quit as long as the fire in his eyes is still there. Losing against 2 top fighters isn't a shame. Losing against great fighters is better than an undefeated man fighting low level fighters.

well what i meant by that is at 140 manny proved his power with hatton, the doubt was how would his power transfer up to WW against a welter with better boxing skills than hatton... if hatton would have attempted to fight a more intelligent fight he might have lasted longer.

manny was able to do to cotto what no other welter had been able to do. it is obvious that his power did carry up. I was of the opinion that manny's power should not be under estimated... believe me.. i have been a fan of manny since the first barrera fight and i backed him in everyfight until this one.

I agree with you, i just don't want him to end up loosing badly in his remaining fights a la benitez.... cotto gets props and always will... he is mentaly capable but i just don't think his face and nose will be able to take high volume punchers with power. before marg I think he could.. now I don't think so.

I have always had a great deal of respect for Cotto, but last night was painful to watch. It reminded me of during the 11th round of Pacquiao-Barrera I when Lampley said, "A great fighter shouldn't have to go through another three minutes of this."

I think Cotto can still be competitive at 147, but Pacquiao beat whatever greatness was left in him. No matter what Cotto does, I'll always be a fan of his.

Cotto lost to a great Champ. He has lost something but not all. I think he still has a couple of good fights left in him. I would say, comeback against Hatton, KO him and one last fight. Then he should retire. Anyways, he is still my favorite fighter and I will support him with whatever desicion he makes.
