I am not sayin he cannot win any more matches, what I am saying is he bleeds out his nose like a faucet and there with injuries like that you cannot win. clotty did not do it but pac did and margo did... both high volume punchers clotty is not...

I am sorry but is not a mental issue with cotto, he is fine mentally..but his weakness is a scared nose...any high volume puncher will with accuracy will make him bleed bad..

He needs to consider it after taking so many shots like this and bleeding in almost every fight. As his fan I still want him to keep fighting and I still think he has more to give but we need to think about his health and he needs to think about his future after boxing. I don't want him looking like a Benitez.

I say fight Hatton at MSG and after that go to 154 and go after one of the belts to become a 3 division champion.

so you don{t think cotto spitting blood by the 6 round had anything to do with his weak performance¿ I am not taking anything away from manny, he did that to him and also KD and wobbled him badly and could have koed him if cotto did not run. but if you can{t breathe you can{t really go toe to toe with anyone.

I guess too that manny{s power also cause him to bleed profusely but the internal scaring will make it easier for the next high volume puncher to take advantage or at least go after this.

          Thanks for posting..

sad to say but true... I was thinking the same thing.. a fight against hatton would be a good match and he could try to go for a belt at 154 and be a 3 div champion.

hey cotto is the man tho he always goes for the best!

I think Cotto still has it in him. So what? he got beat by Manny Pacquiao. He went toe to toe with the p4p greatest boxer. Props to Cotto. Cotto just needs to take a vacation, and adjust his training.

I guess Duran should have retired when Hearns Knocked him out
Or Mike Tyson when Douglas beat him.
Or Arrelola after the Vitali whooped him
Or so on and so on.

Some good/great fighters get dominated because they fight the best out there and dont duck nobody. Cotto is one of those fighters. Believe me i see him getting about 4-5 GREAT wins on his resume before he calls it quits. I say he beat mosley/ margarito in a rematch. Wins a couple more belts beats berto. Maybe fights Hatton for a lil tune up which wouldn't be a Bad tune up. Then moves up to 154 and gets a belt there before retiring. he will probably fight 5-10 more times. He will be a 3 division champ and still be one of the GREAT WW of the past 10-20 years.
                Thanks for the great post...

I have to disagree with your examples... tyson, arreola and duran where not bleeding out their nose for the second time in their carreers like cotto is..

his nose is badly scarred.. spitting blood by the 6h round is not a good sign..
true he got beat by an ATG in pac. ..
It will be interesting to see if you are correct in your predictions against mosley or margo.. but at this time I just don{t see him doing..
just food for thought... if cotto was bleeding out his nose like he did against pac or margo do you think he would have beat mosley¿¿¿¿

                any one can answer..

Cotto will be fine. i think a 4-5 month vacation without boxing will get his body back to where it needs to be.
and Arreola's face was smashed pretty good.
and Duran couldn't get bloody because he was out cold .lol
Cotto won a lot of great fights and lost a couple (which one is disputed) I still believe in Cotto and i hope all the Cotto fans still do too.

I believe that he should not retire.

He should get a better corner though. His corner is useless right now except for the conditioning expert. Miguel is too young to quit and should just regain his confidence.

I mean come on! Everyone loses! But does not mean that you have to quit when you lose.

Did Pacquiao quit when he lost those 3 times?"

Did Ali, Frazier, and other ATG quit just because they lost?

No they didn't. And that is what made them great, they lost because everyone loses and they got better because they lost.

I agree wholeheartely with your post, I just think that is such a huge vulnerability which his next opponents will attempt to exploit that maybe is not worth fading out so bad..

animalistic had a good strategy but it remains to be seen..

                      again thanks for posting.
