  • Floyd jealous of Gatti's fame?

That's the only explanation I can come up with for his sour attitude right now. I mean, not that he's ever been a saint, but he seems to freak out whenever the guy is mentioned, and can't stop telling us all how laousy a fighter Gatti and and how he's going to go and stomp him on his home turf.

I just can't figure out why this Gatti fight bugs him so much, and jealousy is the only thing I can think of. Can't seem to realize why people like Gatti. The ****** thing of it is that we all know Gatti's flaws as a fighter...pointing them out to us all seems kind of pointless.

PBF may be the better skilled fighter but Gatti is really more popular because he fights to the taste of the boxing fans.... bloody, gorish, with alot of atrocities in the ring

I am not saying this to be disrespectful towards Gatti or his fans but I think Mayweather is going to completley humilate him. He just has way too much for Gatti.

I agree, I believe he'll humiliate Gatti but with Arturo's heart, I don't think PBF has any chance of stopping him.

If anything, this fight will further enhance Gatti's legend, as he takes a beating and keeps coming forward, and even perhaps gives better than he gets in a few exchanges late, prompting Lampley to go apes**t and scream about how great Gatti is. That would really piss off Floyd, if he wins 10-2 in rounds or somesuch and still "loses" because people will talk about how tough and courageous Gatti is.

Wouldn't you be jealous if you were superior in skill to someone, but because that person had a little more charisma or "stroke", you were overlooked or bypassed for him? That's PBF's dilemma. I'd be mad, too. He just better not be so mad that he tries to trade with Arturo, because if he does, he will pay for it.

Prediction: PBF UD 12 Gatti, 10 rounds to 2. See above for details.

By "humiliate," I mean purely in a boxing sense, I do predict a great showing of heart from Gatti despite his obvious shortcomings during the fight.

I don't get what you're trying to say. Mayweather said it himself the reason he doesn't respect Gatti as a fighter is because he disrespected him. Why the hell would Gatti not want to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. just because he didn't go to court? What does Mayweather's personal life have to do with Arturo Gatti? People say Gatti has a champion's heart, and this that...but he's been trying to dodge Mayweather for the longest. I don't know if Mayweather is jealous of Gatti's fame or not, but I know one thing...the main reason Mayweather dislikes Gatti is because Gatti disrespected him.

            .
Other way around. Gatti had better find a way to "outbox" PBF. Floyd is too hard a puncher, is too fast, and is to inept at pasting flurries on his opponents. Floyd will shock every Gatti fan in this fight IMO. He is going to knock Gatti out, or That fat beluga will throw in the towel for Gatti. Either way, Gatti is toast. And I cant wait to see him get humiliated. Plain and Simple.

Toe to Toe........Floyd easily humiliates him. Gatti must be on the move like he was against Dorin, and Leija. Or else.

That's not true at all. If Gatti was afraid, he would have found away to get out of the fight. Also, Mayweather has not even been in Gatti's weight-class that long.

              Gatti avoided no one.

One world-class fighter shouldn't have to become a mandatory just to get a shot from the world champ. In a way it's not so much Gatti as it is his promoters.

Yeah, but he keeps harping on how bad Gatti is as a fighter. If he was upset about that you would think that he would just call him an ******* for bringing up his personal problems. Even if that's what's bugging Floyd he looks foolish by trying to tell us all over and over how bad Gatti is as a fighter compared to him. Thing is, we all know that. All Floyd is doing with this is making himself look more like a jerk and making Gatti out to be the nice guy getting picked on by a jerk. He isn't winning anymore supporters.

Like a previous poster said, if Gatti loses bad he will probably just be praised for standing up to a guy who will be perceived as the bully. Floyd is helping to create this perception himself.

I think Floyd is a great fighter. But he is doing nothing right now but proving his critics right.
