      n.

      1. Sympathy with a person who has experienced pain, grief, or misfortune: paid a visit of condolence to the grieving family.

      2. An expression or declaration of such sympathy.

^^^^has nothing to do with "death"....who is the idiot now?
Just use yahoo live search to find out what condolence means and you'll be clarified! While it is true that this is an expression of sympathy, misfortune and grief but if you dig a little bit deeper and you'll find out that those emotions of which expressing condolences applicable, are related to after losing a love one!

dude a "condolence" is an expression of sympathy with someone in grief, ....someone does not have to DIE in order for you to feel "grief"

Grief is the loss of someone or something to which we have formed a bond....

if you lost your job, you could feel 'grief' and I could offer my condolences to that "grief" that you are experiencing....

              what dont you get?

has nothing to do with death...
