those scales don't work like that. for a few seconds it'll still be moving. you have to wait 'til it levels off.

Exactly. The fighters usually weigh themselves right before the weigh-in so they have a good idea of how much they'll weigh. And if they know they got over, they won't stick around. Or they can pull a Gatti and start gulping some liquid as soon as they're off the scales.
