Why does Roach do this? I remember reading before Manny fought Oscar that he said Oscar couldn't pull the trigger anymore. Then after the fight he complained that other people were saying the same thing, only later. It's like, YOU SAID IT FIRST! Now he says that Cotto is shot? If Manny wins his victory will hold less weight in my eyes now.

I was listening to the Murph and Mac show on the radio and they spoke to Chris Mannix of Cnnsi and he said he spoke to Roach for about 30 minutes yesterday and asked him a few questions. Here is what Roach said basically:

He was asked if there were more distractions than usual for this camp
Roach: I would have liked for Manny to just trained at Wildcard gym but the camp was not wasted in the Philippines. He has never seen Pacquiao this focused and ready for a fight. He only said they wasted about a week though when Pacquiao had to talk to politicians and all that.

He was then asked if Cotto was any different from DLH/Hatton

Roach: Cotto is definitely a shot fighter. His reflexes and speed and ability to punch and be punched is not the same. It hasn't been the same since the Margarito fight. We really believe we will score an early knockout on him.

Mannix said there was no BS in Roach he was completely serious about the early knockout.

hate to say it but i just rewatched cotto jennings and roach was telling the truth. cotto's reflexes have slowed and he ****s the left hook. i'm rooting for cotto and i want him to take it, but the evidence is pointing towards pacman.

That is true. On one side hes calling pacquiao a top 5 fighter of all time. ON the other side hes calling everyone he fought shot. Oh well if he gets past Cotto he can't call Mayweather shot.

his hand speed wasn't as good in the Clottey fight too. I think everyone feels Cotto isn't the same since the MArgarito fight but I honestly don't think he is shot. He still got some good fights left in him.

we really dont know how much cotto has left in the tank, his ring age is def more then pacs imo and roach may just be truthing here .... that being said we really dont kno and i am willing to bet cotto has more left then roach thinks ...

he's still got the punch to beat pac, but he's going to have to walk through everything pac has time and again to land. pac's going to walk cotto into shots all night.
