Yes. I suspected some foul play as well. Ilegally wrapping the knuckle area is what I heard. Joppy sustained substantial damage as well, something that has not been apparent in his other fights. Not saying he could beat Tito, but I am saying his face was messed up more than it was supposed to be.

    The Wrap

I am totally unaware as to the credibility of this source. Slightly interesting arcticle nonetheless. I believe the opposite of this person. I was shocked with the whole Joppy fight. Tito must be the real deal. That was the biggest test he ever faced as a fighter, and made it look a bit too easy.

Tito's power wasn't apparent in the Hopkins fight because for one, he rarely landed any cleans blow on Hopkins chin, and two, Hopkins is not only a middleweight but a middleweight with an iron chin.

This is very true, but the question remains. Was Tito`s hands wrapped illegally?

          hittin the heavy bag
          speed bag
          double end bag
          sparrin
          punch mitts
          etc.

Tito`s camp went crazy claiming they didn`t want the hand wrapping supervised and as it turned out Tito`s power wasn`t a factor in the Hopkins fight!! Suspecious!
Here it is! Another jerkoff reply about the same lame rumor.

It was all a plan from the Hopkins camp. Tito's hands weren't wrapped illegally. Both Bouie Fischer and Nazeem Richardson have admitted that it was just a mind game. Hopkins before the Eastman fight at a press conference finally admitted himself when he was praising Richardson as his master strategist. He said that Richardson was the man behind the plan.

To go a little off subject, the power in each of my hands is unreal...

I'd never, ever throw a punch with gloves on if I didn't have wraps. My hands and wrists are already ****ed up from my misspent youth, I wouldn't even consider hitting someone these days without protection, not unless it were absolutely necessary. The pain, and the healing time just isn't worth it.

just make sure he doesn't make you wear asian gloves and he wears Reyes gloves ( the puncher's glove)

Can you wrap your hands twice. I have small hands and I feel like the protection will be stronger. Have you guys ever done that? So in other words you wrap both hands once with one pair and you wrap again with another pair.

There is a techique used by trainers called lacing the gloves. They dont remove any padding but by using the laces once the glove is on the fighters hand they are able to displace the padding or horse hair in the front part of the fist where the blows land. This may have been why it was claimed that Titos hands were illegaly wrapped. The displaced padding causes the blow to land with a horrific impact, just about being able to feel the wrapped fist directly behind the leather of the glove..........Rockin'
