I like it when people use logic instead of emotion to argue their point. I disagree with you, but i still like your argument and it makes sense. Keep in mind that Mayweather tried to secure a fight with Mosley when Mosley was in his prime. Mosley turned it down twice. He tried to secure a fight with Cotto at 140. Bob Arum said "NO WAY". Cotto fought Judah 1.5 years after Mayweather did. One could argue that Judah was not the same after losing in back to back matches to Baldomir and Mayweather. I think Mayweather will blow away Pac because he is a much more complete and better fighter and Pac is very easy to hit.
If Arum disagreed with that belief, he would have no problem putting Pac in the ring with Mayweather in what could be the most lucrative match in history. However, look at Arum's langauage in this story and what he has been saying lately. He wants no part of Mayweather for Pacquaio and won't make the fight.

"In my heart this would be like a hunter round around the ring looking for a deer...PBF will not engage....it makes up stinking fight....
What are guys thinking!!! LOL!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE_ts...eature=related
Because Mosley, Cotto, and Mayweather are better fighters and more interesting opponents than guys like Felix Sturm. Pavlik won't grow any balls. And everyone at 168 is tied up. You want him to fight Chad Dawson?
If mayweather can move up from his ORIGINAL weight class of 130lbs to fight 5 classes above that...why would it be too much to ask P Will to move up 3?...

This is still an excuse he wants people to believe. First, it's negotiation, then it's May won't engage, then it to keep the Marquez-Pacquiao saga going. If Pac wins, there are no excuses this fight can't be made.

I respect your opinion, but he's opinion was based on what he thinks about PBF in general. you want to fight him (PBF) best you expect him at his best! timing is not the issue.it was not as if he destroyed Marquez! to make anyone afraid, that's bull****!!! PAC tasted more leather than that in his career, pot shots won't make him scared neither his team!! LOL!!
Surprised? When Arum said after somebody brought the name of Mayweather Jr for Pac, "I don't know how competitive it would be" My mind baffled of his answer because I was thinking, "How could Floyd not be competitive with Pac?" and then when I read the thread, OH boy, I realized that just like them, I am a Pac fan jumping immediately to this question.. and them typical Mayweather fans and Pac haters jumped immediately to an opposite question from mine! Funny indeed, hahaha!!!
But now I believe, what Arum wanted to say bascally is, Pac who is a forward and Floyd a runner makes the competition dull and boring and it's not what the viewers money worthed for.
Or he just said this as a ploy to continue his mind game against Floyd by downplaying him as Pac next opponent, by giving uncertainty on this match-up possibility by saying "I don't know how competitive it would be", so that if Floyd wanted this fight will not be playing being especial and importantly would not overprice himself for Pac. You know, Arum is kinda clever when it comes to business!
