my source in the distribution industry tells me it did between 13,000 and 20,000 buys.

20,000 x 24.95 = 499,000 gross
less 45% in distribution and production costs = 274,450 net

274,450 in ppv revenue is a lot more than the 30,000 that ESPN pays, so by that standard the show did well......

espn has paid more than that for some shows. they paid over 60 thou for the berto-rivera fight, and they paid more than that for zab's comeback fight.

ppv makes sense for a small card. this was vargas' first event. right?
