  • Cotto Will Stop Pacquiao Before Eight, Says Evangelista

Uncle/former trainer Evangelista Cotto is picking his nephew, WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, to stop Manny Pacquiao before the eight round of Saturday's bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Evangelista and Miguel have not spoken since their argument on April 8 that led to a brawl at the Bairoa gym in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Miguel fired Evangelista and replaced by Joe Santiago. Evangelista sued Miguel in July for $7.5 million dollars, with claims of money owed and serious injuries suffered during their April scuffle. [details]

Hows their relationship? Looks like he is trying to patch it up a bit complimenting Cotto and not going against his nephew. Still was a violent thing to do to chuck a brick at his Nephew, but I guess none of us know the whole story. But we've also seen Jose Cotto and Evangelista get into a fight with each other during a boxing match.

If Cotto loses, Evangelista wants to be in the corner for the rematch.

Manny's greatest advantage imo is that he is not afraid to loose.
