Julio needs space to punch so it was a good strategy.
I was at one of Julio's fights and I noticed this. Of course he knocked the guy unconscious in round 3 but the first two rounds the guy kept close and did well despite having limited skills.

Yup. But Julio is a huge puncher, and there were a few bombs he sat down on and connected very cleanly against Kirkland, and Kirkland was not deterred.

Angulo would stand right in front of Kirkland and Kirkland throws more, has more speed, power, and can take a comparative punch. I'd be surprised if Angulo won.
