watch Hatton's greatest hits or whatever you can find on you tube and it's hard not to like the dude. He used to pummel through guys. he was relentless. Once he became a huge star and held the title at 140, the division was not what is is now. there were no Bradleys, or Khan's coming up quick. Ricky had a chance to step up (headline bigger fights) and i give him all the credit in the world for the work he did against Collazo. he didn't make Collazo fight him at a catch weight, he took the fight on short notice, and he went 12 rounds with a decent welterweight, scoring his fair share of points. that fight, along with the tough tko loss to Mayweather, and a close call with Lazcano, began his decline. i believe the loss to Mayweather psychologically effected him to a point of no return. he's been somewhat of a shadow of himself since, but to most critics surprise, returned with new life to outbox the boxer Malignaggi. Hatton is good, just not an ELITE fighter. his popularity was bigger than his talent, but he was entertaining while he was here.
