• Early reports say that once the pay-per-view numbers are counted, Pacquiao will come away with close to $18 million (with $7.5 million guaranteed) after this fight, with Cotto picking up around $10 million. That leads to the inevitable question: How much would be in it for the winner against Floyd Mayweather?

Yeah but every promoter makes the excess money. GBP from Floyd, Frank Warren from Amir Khan, Dibella from Taylor, DK from Tito.
He doesn't take % from their purse. That's important because it's their money and whatever Arum makes is not taken from what they have agreed to be paid. Understand?
So they keep that 27% or whatever figure you talked about. None goes to Arum. That's an important fact. It's a amtter of a mant aking 27% or not from your purse.
That was the point anyways, not what Arum took from both guys.Comment

why would i lie? that is what i read.
$1 milly divided by 10% = $10 milly
"Kizer said that had the bout agreements not been changed to 147, Mayweather would have faced a fine from the commission in addition to whatever penalty he had agreed to pay Marquez. For being two pounds overweight, Kizer said the penalty would have been 10 percent of his purse, or $1 million. Had he been three pounds over (147 pounds), the figure would have jumped to a 20 percent fine"

The thing about revenue is that if it isn't a success then the promoter could be in a lost and the fighters still get their guranteed.
That's why promoters are so bitter when someone elaves them. They might have spent millinos on promoting and effort and then if that fighter becomes too big, they leave.Comment
