i'm not sure about 85% of the gross , going to the main event fighters.

even 85% of net revenue is a lot.

Main event fighters make a lot, Arum was talking about this in one of his old interviews railing UFC he was talking how fighters get paid the vast majority of revenue and I seem to recall 85%.

Anyways it is not a big deal Floyd made a lot of cash, how much is uncertain but I think he will do better overall then either in this fight becasue one Arum takes a larger % then GBP, and two he would have to share less with JMM. Alteast if the fights do similar numbers, maybe this fight does a bunch more who knows :boobies:.

Also I think it would work the exact same way in figuring out what Manny or Cotto make with one exception, I am pretty sure GBP takes a flat rate while Arum takes a percentage.

22% out of each fighters total purse is a good business to be in IMO.

That revenue is mainly just to recoup expenses for advertising the fight that they have to pay for. They will not get a ton of incoming money anyway because it is a closed audience. Only the PPV viewers will see it, so they might make about a million in ring advertisements max, but it does recoup some costs.
Right but you are assuming that HBO takes more money than the main event fighters, which is not the case.

Here is a sample of the blog:
                THE PROMOTER AND THE DEAL

Depending on the particular event, the promoter either assumes financial risk in staging a pay-per-view event or secures guaranteed sources of revenue necessary to cover the projected expenses, including purses of the main event participants. The risk arises because there is generally no guaranteed domestic television revenues (such as a broadcast license fee), rather such domestic television revenues are a variable based upon pay-per-view home sales.

The promoter serves as the quarterback of the pay-per-view promotion and enters into various commercial arrangements and customarily undertakes what seems like endless promotional, marketing, compliance, administrative and logistical responsibilities.

i know ppv revenues is a part of boxing and can influence future bouts, but i honestly don't see what's so interesting about how much fighters make.

guranteed purse is not a sum of what a fighter gets his money from.

1 mil ppv times by 50 is 50mil.

                    gate

                    maybe other tv companies.

floyd as the promoter pays for the promotion, 24 7, undercard and judges etc

so his gurantee comes from his own company.floyd gets how much from it?
