Valuev is part owned by Don King.. Why would he want to rig a fight to make his own boxer lose?

Valuev did the same thing as Froch. Both just walked forward missing with every punch they threw.
Haye did the same thing as Dirrell. Both ran yes but they outboxed the hell out of their opponents, landing more and getting hit less.
Those fights where similar.

Don King will profit off of Hayes next 3 fights. Valuev was close to retirement anyways. Part of the contract was for Don King to have the rights for Hayes next 3 fights, which means Don King makes money off of it.
I was under the assumption that Golden Boy had signed Haye for his next 3 fights.. thanks for making me aware! Where are your sources for that?
wasnt Valuev saying he wants to fight on until he becomes world champion again.. only today? but hes close to retirement?..
link me up to the bit where Don King now owns Haye and the bit where Valuev says hes close to retirement please.Last edited by PhillyG; 11-11-2009, 11:17 AM.

regardless of how you view the fight/outcome, the result is probably the better one for the state of heavyweight boxing. you can argue the bout resembled the froch - dirrell fight, which it did in many ways, although at least carl attempted to engage dirrell , letting his hands go far more often than valuev did , whereas valuev, even with a 7 stone weight 'advantage', simply followed haye a la frankenstein, with his gloves seemingly stuck to his cheekbones. surely a guy with so much weight over the other should be a little less cautious about letting his hands go??...or did he just expect the decision to work in his favour, as it has previously??
