Fortunately two of them did.
Haye and Dirrell fought the same kind of fight and they both won.

Valuev and Froch fought the same kind of fight and they both lost.

Haye and Dirrell both connected with more punches, avoided pretty much 90% of the opponents punches and simply outboxed their opponents.

Valuev and Froch just slowly plodded forward punching air and missing with pretty much every punch they threw.

I don't see whats so different between these fights, shure Froch might have threw more than Valuev and Dirrell might have threw more than Haye and they might have done slightly different things but on the whole they where similar.

i get where you're coming from hyde but at least froch tried his heart out to nail down the fleetfooted and talented dirrell , who held wayyyy too often, whereas the zombiesque valuev didn't seen to give that much of a ****e that he was was beating the crap out of thin air all the way through and getting hit with well delivered, albeit sparingly shots all the way through.

you're prettty much correct, but the point is you have to do enough to convince the judges that you deserve to take the belt off the defending champion. Unlike Haye, Dirrell had other options available but he chose not to use them, and ultimately it cost him.

I don't like hype-job haye and how some brits rate him so highly.
            Good post.

we're all prone to a little bias but brits in general are well capable of bigging up or breaking down their own fighters (see the amir khan poss leaving britain scenario) so no bias applicable here i wouldn't have thought. whether you take into consideration the valuev performance or not, haye is hugely talented and v.explosive. whether his chin has what it takes to reign a while is a different matter but i don't believe there to be reason to question his obvious talent?? of course he's a hype job in that he hypes events up with his potty mouth but the ability is most definitely obvious and intact.

boxing is not about being the hardest, its about one mans skills agaisnt another man skills and who skills are better.

carnivore stop sucking klitschko **** and stop letting your heart rule over your head.

haye never run once, always using good footwork at body movement at the same time focusing on valuev all the time. running is what your mouth does.

and i think holding aka wlad style is more cause for cheating anyway. instead of using good defensive skills, to protect his iffy chin he has to grab hold, thus not allowing his opponents to get his offence going.

now this I do agree with. Haye has received precious little credit on this forum for what was a great win. He's clearly a very fine boxer, only a complete mentalist would think otherwise.

**** on. Haye may hype things up and rub people up the wrong way,and I thought some of the stuff he said about Valuev was a little bit beyond the pale, but that is getting him plenty of attention and making sure that he gets paid well. Lots of fighters do that and boxing fans(myself included) get into it,nothing wrong with that as banter can be found between fans of just about every sport.

Even the haters tune in to watch his fights, you have only to look at the board since the fight and you will find that every single Klitschko fan is an expert on the fight!

Haye is simply exciting to watch because he brings excitement and gets the job done, has genuine knockout power in either hand, but also has a dodgy chin and can be vulnerable.

Boxing fans appreciate that kind of fighter and gets the wider public involved,as was seen last weekend.

deadbeat and the-man-on-the-telly.....wkd assessments. let's face it, whoever haye fights next, be it ruiz or otherwise, the detractors will most definitely be tuned in as this boy haye is exactly what the heavyweight division needs and has been lacking for seemingly an eternity - excitement! even if he does fight ruiz, and believe me, i can think of at least 5 fights i'd rather see him in before the quiet man, it at least generates intrigue value again - can haye beat ruiz inside the distance?? purely going by memory, something which hasn't been done this decade??? will haye have to get off the floor to do so or will he look a tad shaky???maybe, maybe not. what i am certain of (ok, valuev debacle aside) is that he puts arses on seats as he brings a serious sparkle to the division.
