How many of you had Clottey beating Cotto?

Steward was on Clottey's nuts something shocking, he gave Cotto no credit for the first 8 rounds even though Cotto won 3 of those rounds without question, it was funny hearing Lampley putting him in his place. If you watch the fight without scoring it seemed like Clottey edged it...but I've scored it a few times and Cotto did enough to pull it put. It was very very close though.

This poll is one-sided, makes the topic creator look like a bigger joke. Maybe Cotto needs to spray his skin coat to be accepted. It was a tough fight where Clottey headbutted Cotto and caused a serious cut on Cottos eye. This fight should have been stopped and Clottey Dq'd. Clottey the dumb ass either cheats or doesn't know how to not use his head during a fight, he was rightfully Dq'd in the baldy fight too.

LOL, he scored 3 rds for Cotto the whole fight.... that's how butt hurt dude is. I'm just glad Cotto turned him down to train him... LOL...

problem having a comentarist like that is that ppl who actually dont know how to score fights believe in them.

had clottey 144-113 cotto threw alot of ineffective combos that i think swung judges but in actuality but you can't be mad at decision ecause clottey was inactive much of fight. Anyway despite scoring I think emmanuel said it best when he said clottey was clearly the better fighter on that night cleaner punches better defense made cottos head snap back repeatedly

i disagree ... hes a great fighter but if he was clearly better he would've won. cotto fought extremly well considering the cut and he could have fought more aggressively if he could see and if he didnt have to protect his eye. but i do think cotto was there for the taking and if clottey was clearly better he woulda.

I just watched this fight on HBO Demand and I have only seen this fight 2 times prior to tonight. As I said when I first watched it, Clottey clearly won the fight with the more accurate punches to the head. Cotto landed more body shots but those close rounds Clottey landed more head punches.

The judge who scored it 116-111 for Cotto was obviously favoring Cotto hitting Clotteys forearms and gloves. Oh and is it coincidence that all 3 judges most notable fights were all past Cotto fights?

Anyways I was just wondering why is the decision in this fight not talked about much on this site?

Cotto was fighting with 1 eye from rounds 3-12 and you expect clottey to get the fight? I'm sorry but if cotto had both eyes ok he would've won the fight by UD. The judge that had it 116-111 was crazy but he should've still gave Cotto the fight by 114-113. Clottey makes EVERYONE look bad, even when they win. I thought Clottey would beat Cotto before fight but this fight was a plus for Cotto because it shows he can handle a VERY, VERY bad cut and still go distance against a freakin middleweight.

Cotto won the fight in the last few rounds because Clottey switched off like he does in a lot of his fights. Clottey embaressed Cotto at times though and i was not impressed by Cotto at all.

I thought it was a very good close fight but had Clottey winning. The knockdown hurt him but still IMO wasn't enough to stop him winning.

Clottey clearly won IMO. He is not the most popular fighter so people don't voice it much. He landed more punches and pressed the entire fight against a great fighter in Cotto. There really isn't an aspect of the fight that Cotto won. Landed less, pressed less, didn't land cleaner shots. This is coming from a Cotto fan that favors him over Pac.

I saw Clottey winning the fight. The commentators were all like "Man Cotto is so flashy", but mostly I just saw 4-5 punch combinations on the defence of Clottey. Seemed like everyone liked it a lot. I like Cotto more than Clottey, but I think Cotto lost the fight, fair and square.
