The only wins I give him credit is beating Lacy and Kessler, but Hopkins was a close fight and Jones Jr was over the hill.

        I'd say top 20

Yes, later in his career he fought a few guys. And used his tools (slap boxing). But comeon, look at the top 20 all time right now. Those guys fought the fighters of their day, the great ones.

Calzaghe has a few names. Kessler, Jones, Hopkins. Did he "beat the crap" out of Hopkins? Funny, loooked like despite being hit a lot, Hopkins had few marks. That's probably cause Calzaghe was famous for slap punching and not actually throwing.

And admit that. Because he had hand problems he decided to fight that style.

He's in the top 50. Because he defended his title so many times, but top 20? No.

          Calzaghe > Hopkins

history will always remember Calzaghe beat Hopkins, and had zero losses, while Bernard had 5 losses.

Well its similar to when you have a lot of money in the bank you can live of the interest earned.

JC was perhaps right to retire in that his legacy is gaining from old warhorse BH doing well, and JC is getting credit for beating BH.

Its hard where to place JC, but you tell me who is supposed to be no20 and then its possible to say whether i think JC is better or worse than that person. If you said Hagler was no20, which he isnt, i would say JC is above Hagler so is 19 at least.

And history will also remember one record, the oldest man to ever win a legit title.

Calzaghe doesn't actually have any big records. Not most undefeated, not most title defenses, etc, etc.

Idk why he would say he hates all whites fighters. I'm Pro black-Floyd, Roy, Bhop, A.Silva, r.Evans, J.Jones but color has nothing to do with skills.

                Props to
                Fedor, R.Franklin, Pavlik, D.Henderson, J.Fitch, F.Edgar, etc

However I don't like the lack of form in Joe Cal's punches, and GSP was one of my favorites until he switched his style up to jab and wrestle ****.

George Foreman. Archie Moore. Jake Lamota. Julio Cesar Chavez. Joe Frazier. Gene Tunney.

What is the love obsession with fans about Hagler? Ring Magazine made an absurd spot for him about 10 years ago of ranking him 17th of the past 80 years in boxing.

                  A) He retired early
                  B) Only had 3 HOF fights. Duran, Hearns, Leonard.

And I wouldn't rank JC even ahead of Hagler. Why? There is only 2 names on JCs resume that are even close and that's Jones and Hopkins, and they had those fights in the twilights of careers. Hagler fought Duran and Hearns when he was still pretty close to his prime.
