There are Cubans who are greater than Calzaghe.

Im a big Joe fan. But to claim he is a top 20 ATG is crazy. He may have had the talent to go into that category but he never proved it by fighting the best.

I read his autobiography and he starts with his win over Lacy and he is talking like he has defeated smokin Joe Frazier.

His big wins: Kessler and Hopkins. You do not get into the top 20 ATG by having two big wins. He didn't fight a prime Jones, Wright, Johnson, Pavlik, Dawson, Froch, etc.

And you cant say ''oh well Hopkins beat Pavlik so Joe would have''.

Calzaghe has to beat these guys if he wants to be crowned the best. He can't build a legacy of Hopkins success. Styles make fights, Pavlik might have sparked Joe out.

Realisticly speaking, Calzaghe should rank somewhere around 150 in the ATG ranks.

who did he beat thats on the ATG or Elite level?

Jones has a young hopkins, and toney under his belt... that alone puts him above JC.

Bhop prob. has one of the best resumes of our time and he hasnt lost a clear cut dec. since he fought a prime RJJ.

Now joe.. he gets credit for beating lacey, we all know where roy was at when he fought him. The best name on his resume is a disputed victory..it would be like pacquiao retiring after marquez. Joe was good, but he was not great. he is'nt top 50.. stop with these threads.
