Anyone agree Valuev's stock is untainted by Haye?

Haye was supposed to knock out the Russian whale, but he didn't want to stand and trade. I was expecting Haye to come out and swarm over Valuev, but he never had the balls to back up his trash. He was drilled to survive twelve rounds and rely on judges cards, and no way - unless the fight was fixed - could he have been sure he'd won that fight. Sky's main commenatator gave the fight to Valuev by two rounds! What I'm saying is Valuev comes out of the fight with credit: he came forward the entire fight and threw punches, and took everything Haye could throw; and even when he was wobbled at the end, he still came forward and Haye again backed off and wouldn't risk himself. The betting was well in favour of Haye, but all he managed was a majority verdict. Now he's talking Vitaly Klitschko I have to assume this is a Frank Bruno suicide mission/grab the ppv ala Tyson in 96. Either that or Haye has mental issues ala Bruno. No way at this moment is Haye up to fighting Vitaly Klitschko. For me, Valuev is the moral winner as he was trash talked and betted heavily against, but came to the ring to fight, not run away.

I agree. Valuev had already hit rock bottom when he did absolutely nothing to Evander last December and still got the robbery.

So Nikolay had nowhere to go but up at that point.

It's true, the Holyfield fight was a bad night for Valuev. But after Haye I think Valuev's stock is improved. Nobody would have blinked an eye if he (Valuev) had got the decision and all this Haye vs Vitaly talk would be non existent. It does sound like Haye is grabbing the money like Bruno is 96, Haye can't afford to lose his title to a Chambers or Arreola etc.. for £5m when the Vitaly fight would gross £50m. Ruiz is a necesarry contractual warm up, and I've no doubt that Valuev will step aside and fight the winner of Haye Vitaly in 2010. Don King will need paid off of course.

217 pounds vs 316 pounds, nearly 100 pounds difference. WTF did you expect, Haye to stand and trade with him? Wasn't the best Haye performance offensively but he did hurt his hand and NO MATTER WHAT, he wrote boxing history as the first man to defeat an opponent giving up almot 100 pounds!!!! This is HUGE, you can't say Haye has no balls with a straight face.

Valuev is an ogre man. I couldn't watch 3 minutes of that fight.

They should use his fights as corporal punishment for criminals in some countries, truthfully.

I'm not a big Haye fan at all, but I'd much rather see him than Valuev any day of the week. If people think Valuev got robbed, this is this case where I'd actually say "Good".

Valuev will now enter the rankings of the WBC, IBF, and WBO.

So there's a better chance he'll fight a Klitschko, who would become the first to fell the giant!

              I agree.

I will no longer watch a fight with Valuev in it, unless he fights one of the Klitschkos. But hopefully he just disappears.
