Unlike all of the other HW's Toney can actually sell the fight and garner interest. This could be a big Showtime fight and this would open up David Haye to the US fans. This fight would be a **** talking fest full of insults and disrespect and would get a lot of attention.

I think David Haye would become the first person since Roy Jones to really outbox James Toney. I am not saying this is a significant fight in the HW Division, but if Haye wants to build his name in the states with boxing fans and with African American fans then a James Toney fight would be a smart move.

Arreola would be a good one for getting HBO exposure, if Haye cares about that.

Since HBO seems to be pretty sold on him, and cover all his fights lately...

Im not sure HBO would cover a Toney fight...Showtime might though.

i agree toney was fat five years ago and people are tired of seeing forty year olds in the ring put him up against someone from this era at the oldest a rahman or a tall heavyweight who at least is likened to the klitschkos who everyone wants to see anyway and valuev was not a good fight 8-(

This would also be a good fight. James Toney is the easier fight IMO .....easy fight and a HOF on his resume...a win/win for Haye...

no way James Toney beats Haye now

There's no point in the fight, Toney is a shot old fighter.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Haye fights him. The Gayemaker will be a weak titleholder who'll target old, shot fighters rather than prime undefeated fighters like Vitali does.

your haye hatred is out of control.. say what you want about his skills or his personality, but the guy wants to fight the best.. thats obvious to anyone who isnt blinded by hatred.

i also find it funny you can predict the future..

i do agree a fight with toney is pointless though, toney is washed up and haye doesnt prove anything by fighting him. he has to fight ruiz next anyways, and after that he has the chance to fight a klitschko for a fortune and a chance to unify..

why the hell should he fight toney?

Toney is a old veteran, every generation has one or two of those old legends like a duran or Barrera.
