Dawson vs Pascal is a great fight, not a mismatch at all. Pascal is actually a bad matchup for Dawson as Pascal is a slick fighter with awkward lateral movements, not at all someone standing in front of him like a statue as Glen johnson who was an easy target the whole night. Hope the fight with Pascal will go through, guess depending on the outcome of Pascal vs Diaconu 5th December, another war to look forward to.

Dawson has even better footwork than Pascal and is a straighter puncher. If anything, i see it as a bad style match up for Pascal. In the Froch fight, Froch couldn't miss with his jab and was actually out boxing Pascal late. Dawson is 5 inches taller and has a longer reach by 12. Pascal's only chance to win is if he gets Dawson in a drag out kind of a fight. Either way, it will be exciting.

This is a fight where Dawson can't lose focus late because he could be out worked. Pascal's stamina is unquestionable.

F that... get Hopkins before he retires. Pascal, Cloud, Campillo and Braehmer (since Erdei is moving up, I think Braehmer automatically becomes the WBO champions) will still be there after Hopkins, because they aren't that old.

After Hopkins, he can take on Pascal, Cloud, Campillo and Braehmer and take them all down (probably).

First Dawson vs Hopkins would be one o the biggest snorefests ever. If they are trying to hype up Dawson, they need to match him up against fighters that will make him fight.

Second Hopkins after Ornellas will fight Roy, theres no time to wait for Dawson, he will need to fight once more, Pascal is the right candidate!!

Dawson isn't Jermain Taylor and he isn't Kelly Pavlik. He is way more ring savvy, has fought plenty of veterans, is still young and actually has a good defense.

Kind of an odd post as Pascal isn't as slick as Dawson, his movement isn't as good as Dawson and technically, isn't as advanced as Dawson. The only area where I see Pascal having an advantage is in power. If anything, this is a bad match up for Pascal.

No point in wasting his wbc mandatory status, he should fight Pascal ASAP. But you also have to take into consideration that Pascal did fight Diaconu when Dawson didn't. As a Dawson fan that disturbs me.

Don't forget that Diaconu pulled out of a fight against Dawson in late 07 because of an injury.

Other than that, as much as we would've loved to see Dawson-Diaconu, can we blame Dawson for fighting Tarver for a career-high payday, and then, because of the contractual rematch, fighting Tarver again for even more money?

I'd have to say Tarver's win over Clinton Woods is more than Diaconu's done at 175.
