Roach: "I don't look for MISTAKES, I look for HABITS"

I loved that..it's a great way to study a fighter..and I'm sure many trainers do the same while I do believe that others focus too much on the mistakes..that can be fixed..

    so with that said

What kind of BAD habits do you see in Pacquiao and Cotto??

The only real bad habit I can see of Pacquiao is lingering too long along the ropes but he has fixed that as his fights progressed. But it's still a common habit which he can't afford to do at all costs against Cotto. I don't think I've watched Cotto enough to pick on 1 real common habit he does, but I hate when he throws that right uppercut from the outfield. It's asking to be countered bad. But that's not really a habit, I think it's more of a mistake. As Roach said, habits are things fighters do from their own body language and isn't something they aren't working on in the gym.

Cotto: Open for the uppercut, has problems with fighters that can take his punches, and sometimes gets caught with the right hand.

Pac: Likes to exchange at times, gets caught with counters, and seems vulnerable to the body shot.

lol, are you going to send this link to joe santiago?

don't you think it's too late to correct cotto's habits with only six days left before the big event?

Pac still have habits of throwing wild punches, which mostly open for counters

            Yeah, I liked that too.

Pac can get off of balance a lot and get too aggressive leaving him open.

Cotto is always open for those uppercuts.

Cotto: Keeps his guard a little too open on the bottom (i.e. open for uppercuts)

Pacquiao: Tends to lunge, leaves his right hand down when he throws his lead left.

pacquiao reaches in..He never settles for one clean shot if he lands one he follows with 3 4 sloppy lunging blows...Cotto is open to uppercuts

Pac still WILDLY lunges in. Did it against Hatton and did it in the sparring footage from 24/7.

Pac can easily be countered with good defense. He lunges and throws 3, 4 and 5 fight combinations. If you can time those punches and catch him coming out, or time him coming in, there is a lot of opportunity for success.

Cotto seems to be confused at certian points in the ring and lack confidence, and we know about the uppercuts issue.
