Then i still back up boxing chaos idea to have Cotto come in at 147, pay the 2 million in pennies dumped at the door of the wild card gym and send pac to the nose bleed section. He'll make up way more than the 2 mil in future fights. Besides, him winning this fight means more than money.Last edited by jazluvr; 11-08-2009, 07:53 PM.Comment

but ya know what gets me, is...ok, everything is set-up for the fight. Millions of PPV's have been bought. Ticket sales are big. It's a packed house with deafening screams for these guys, and roach all of a sudden says the fight is cancelled??? can you imagine the consequences of something like that happening?Last edited by jazluvr; 11-09-2009, 03:50 PM.Comment

My question isn't being answered here. I thought Cotto is geting fined at anything OVER 147, and would be fined on million $ for every lb he comes in fite night over the catch-weight of 145?
To make it clear..if he weighs 146= 1 million$ fine. 147= 2 million $ fine. Roach has said if Cotto comes in at 148 or over, hie might call off the fight. Which i just don't see happening. Is this not fact or just rumours?
Roach also warned that he’ll call the fight off if Cotto comes in beyond the regular welterweight limit of 147 lb.
“Our limit for Cotto is just 147 lb [if he’s overweight from the agreed weight of 145 lb],” Roach said. “There’s no fight if he weighs beyond that. Cotto will be assessed a $1-million penalty for every pound overweight.”
Roach plans to sic Pacquiao on Cotto in the early rounds, noting that the Puerto Rican star is prone to slow starts and has fallen early in the bout several times during his career.
“The thing is I feel that if we go after him and pressure him right away we can get him out of there,” Roach said. “If you see his tapes, he’s been hurt in the first round at least seven times he’s been down a couple of fights.”

I mispoke myself...My question isn't being answered here. I thought Cotto is geting fined at anything OVER 147, and would be fined on million $ for every lb he comes in fite night over the catch-weight of 145?
I meant to say geting fined at anything over 145, not 147...typo. Then roach possibly calling off the fight if he comes in at 148 or over...can you imagine the crowds reaction to this? do you think all hell will break loose? I mean, i can't even imagine, cuz everybody even right now is losing their minds over this fight.
Inside the MGM, the crowd is going absolutly crazy. People are drinking and the adrenaline is rushing through everybodies bodies and brains. Imagine if it gets cancelled at the last second??? Oh, my God. if roach calls this fight off at the last minute, i bet people are going to stampede like cattle and a lot of people are going to get hurt. I just can't see Roach taking responsibility for that kind of reaction.Last edited by jazluvr; 11-08-2009, 08:09 PM.Comment
