It's the speed and what you don't see coming that counts most in a fight.
Wait a minute...i thought the catch-weight @ 145 and Roach says Cotto can come in fight nite at 146 or 147, but will be fined 1 million$ for every lb over 145?
And if he comes in over 147, he just might call off the fight? (which i find hard to believe...lol.)

Well the last time I've heard Manny will still be fighting Miguel even if he weighs 147lbs on weighing night..

Pac will be at the offical weigh in heavier than he ever was before.. That probably means his walk around weight prior to cutting weight for the weigh in is heavier than ever before.

That means when he rehydrates and eats and what not, he will be heavier than ever before too. Remember, he was 142 on weigh in and 150'ish against Oscar on their fight night..

I wouldn't be surprised if Pac was 154 or so on fight night against Cotto

cotto can come at 147 and still need some miracle to win the fight. I don't know why people couldn't see the difference in speed and skills isn't that they're only just a fan of a fighter? Pacquiao is in a different level compared to cotto that's why even with his size advantage it still wouldn't be enough in this fight

Before this gets out of hand. No he wasn't 150'ish against Oscar. Pacquiao offificial weight was 142 and at 148-1/2 during fight night. Here's an article almost a year ago from Yahoo Sports...

De La Hoya closed as a 2-1 favorite. De La Hoya is minus-200 and Pacquiao is plus-170. The over-under is 9½ rounds. Pacquiao comes out with a slight weight advantage tonight. On the unofficial HBO scales, he weighed 148½ and De La Hoya was 147.

Round-by-round coverage of Manny Pacquiao's victory over Oscar De La Hoya.

In the Hatton fight. Pac's official weight was 138 and was at 148 at fight night.

Now that I said that, I expect Pac to be at 142-144 at the weigh-in and 150-152 at fight night against Cotto, still a 10-12 lb difference if Cotto comes in at 162. That's still a big advantage for the Boricua fighter.

imagine a guy with cottos strength and power, throwing those power shot combos faster. not only that but cotto also said "we're coming prepared for his speed". they know what they're doing and not only is cotto matching pacquiaos speed (or at least closing the gap in that area), he has strength and power that pacquiao doesn't have. without even talking about the fact cotto can take heavy welterweight punches so mannys should feel like ***** slaps. can manny take cottos strength and power mixed with speed?

exactly, i don't think so either.
That's what I was saying Cotto will come in lighting fast + power... its all over kids. Pacquiao made the wrong move making cotto smaller

do you guys think that manny will just stand there and take cotto's power shots and do you seriously believe that miguel is faster than cotto? not by a long shot. i think the jmm that many fought was faster than cotto. granted that jmm landed some good shots on pacquiao in those fights but the manny of today is a lot better than the manny 18 months ago. if camp cotto is relying heavily on the jmm tapes, they will be in for a rude awakening.

people don't give credit to manny's intelligence. manny's ring smart and skills have progressed exponentially in th last 3 years. they think manny is still the one-arm bandit that he was years ago. but not anymore after his defeat at the hands of erik morales. roach has molded pac to a 2-fisted thinking warrior now with powers in both hands. this is not to mention his greatest gift of all, a blinding speed with a southpaw stance.

equating manny to slugger and non-thinking fighter was the fault fighters and their camps past the 1st erik morales fight - just ask angelo dundee and floyd sr.

My question isn't being answered here. I thought Cotto is geting fined at anything OVER 147, and would be fined on million $ for every lb he comes in fite night over the catch-weight of 145?
To make it clear..if he weighs 146= 1 million$ fine. 147= 2 million $ fine. Roach has said if Cotto comes in at 148 or over, hie might call off the fight. Which i just don't see happening. Is this not fact or just rumours?
