Wlad just couldn't breath and he knew he couldn't coast for another 8 rounds as Lamon was starting to swarm him. Wlad foolishly tried to finish Brewster off and nearly did but he punched himself out in the process while still having the Sanders loss fresh in his mind and also not 100% confident in his new style that MS taught him. The rematch showed the difference Manny made in WK.

Wlad has corrected the mistakes he made against Puritty, Sanders and Brewster. Wlad hasn't even lost a round no less a fight in almost 5 years, he deserves some credit for that.

this whole threads perception of the brewster fight is wrong, it wasn't even a legit loss. they took wlad to the hospital after the fight and his blood-sugar levels were 4x higher than normal if i remember right. there was also some rumor that someone rubbed wlad down with an oil before the fight. not 100% sure on that one so don't quote me. long story short - wlad didn't gas against brewster, he had something seriously wrong with him. even old wlad could have gone longer than like 5 rounds or what ever. brewster was on his way out, he is just lucky wlad was messed up. who knows, wladimir might have taken a bad supplement of some sort. all i know is wlad destroyed brewster in their second match. purity and sanders could not have produced a meaningful rematch. the only person who really got to wlads chin was corrie sanders, and those were some monstrous shots he was landing. every other knock down was wlad being tired, and sam peters rabbit punches/shoves.

regardless, haye hits plenty hard to knock out just about anyone (maybe besides vitali), and so does wlad. their fight wont have anything to do with chins, it will have to do with who is the better boxer, and any knowledgeable boxing fan would be picking wladimir to win that one. despite some of his embarrassing losses, he has matured and become an incredibly effective fighter. he neutralizes everyone, then puts them to sleep after they are completely beaten. haye on the other hand, is a good fighter, but just does not have the skills wlad has.

also for the record, im sure wlad hits harder than haye - especially since he outweighs haye by about 35 lbs or so. wlads jab is pretty much like an average persons right hand hitting you over and over.

Can we agree that if either of them is able to employ their game plan properly they both have the power to put each other down?

Well when Haye was fighting under 200 lbs Wlad's was definitely better, considering the size of the guys who hurt Haye. But now Haye has the extra 20 lbs on him, it's up for debate.
