Regardless of style, he took the belt off Valuev and may very well send Ruiz into retirement. That is good for the division. Only a Haye-ter would disagree.

Granted. I don't think anyone besides Haye stans were happy about that. Any true fans of Haye, however (myself not being so much a fan anymore; more an appreciator of his skills), obviously would've wanted the fights to happen.

People can argue about that for years on end, but most - by rights - should lose interest because everyone's moved on. Vitali has big fights lined up, as does Wlad and haye. Everyone's better off this year, and possibly the next. The trick is to...

    Just.

    Move.

    On.

Ah well. At least someone took the belt off Valuev. Even you've never professed to liking the latter, so what's the problem on the grand scheme of things? The belt's not on him anymore! Can I get a yay? Yes I can.

So basically, everything regarding your Haye-ting stems from the Klitschko situation. It's petty and old, already. Why not just let it go and see if better things arise for all 3 men in the years to come? Undoubtedly there will.

That's bull****, and you know it. Real clutching-at-straws stuff. Toney is always extremely personal and off the mark with his comments (I've never been amused by that "Hitler boys" or "Klitschko sisters" crap), and Ali didn't have the nicest things to say about Liston, either. Haye's childish comments towards the Klitschkos and Valuev were tame in comparison to what Tyson, Ali, Mayorga and Toney have said in the past.

Joan Guzman has fought only twice in 2 years. People still like him, somewhat. Sure, it's frustrating when a guy doesn't fight (and I was openly calling Haye a fraud earlier in the year), but they all get in that ring eventually. This sport requires a lot of patience.

Kudos to Vitali for keeping busy - much respect.

Very rarely do promises stand in this business. Too many reasons, too many situations, plenty of opportunities to fix the mistakes later down the line. Again it's simply a case of...

      Just.

      Move.

      On.

I have no idea what he was thinking when he mentioned Stamford Bridge either, but again we see the curse of boxing - there's talk, there's promises, but eventually everyone has to answer for their actions in that ring. Besides, he can have a massive fight with a Klitschko at Wembley in 2011 - no more silly contracts or perpetual rematches.

      "But he promised!!!!!!!!!"

      Just.

No, I never referred to him as "the true champion" or any superlatives like that. I wondered why he didn't fight Steve Cunningham. I was never a Haye fan, I just didn't dislike him at that time. I was just hoping he'd create some interest in the heavyweight division and give us an exciting fight with Wladimir.

You missed the mark here. When Toney says "the Klitschko sisters" I laugh. He never called them the "Hitler Boys", that was one of our posters here.

If Haye said "the Klitschkos are bums" or referred to them as the "sisters" it would be funny, because we know they are not! But when he says Valuev is the "ugliest person he's ever seen, a freak" it's cruel not funny, because Valuev really is different-looking.

David Haye is the kind of person who would joke and laugh about crippled people confined to wheelchairs. Toney and Ali wouldn't do that.

Hopefully you're intelligent enough to understand the difference.

          LOL

I don't expect his performance against Valuev to set the stylistic tone for the rest of Haye's heavyweight campaign.

He will mix it up more and be more aggressive in other fights.

Oh yes you did, twice. :wnk1:

David Haye is a true champion because he's willing to unify the cruiserweight titles by fighting Enzo Maccarinelli.
then why did I just post David Haye is a true champion?
No Haye-ting there. That's a much more level-headed Tuns. Bring him back!

Granted, he should've stayed back and defended those belts. Cunningham and Adamek, respectively, would've been sufficient to solidify his status as a great CW champ. But alas, the man had other plans, and so he forged ahead with his HW aspirations. Boohoo, what a thoroughly bad man on this Earth. Crucify the ducker, grrrrr!

And yes, he should've fought Kingpin instead of Barrett, but it's done now. He flexed his muscles against a shot Barrett (the supposed KD of Haye wasn't a landed punch; hence, a slip) and beat him soundly. A year later he's HW champ and finally rids people of Valuev for a while. It did take a while, but maybe one day people can...

                Just.

                AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

As if the big giant can't take a few trash-talking words by a little man in the context of a boxing match. Far worse things have been said by other fighters over time. I know you can't be serious with that comment. You're probably having a good ol' giggle behind your monitor just typing that, because it's genuinely laughable.

Subjective, and completely unrelated to boxing. You don't know anything of the sort.

Obviously Ali wouldn't, since he's basically a corpse himself, but I wouldn't put anything past Toney. You can't honestly be claiming that Haye spouts more vicious and nasty things than James Toney, of all people. Haye would get eaten for breakfast/dinner/lunch/midnight snack if he ever tried trash-talking against Toney.

That's how much of a difference there is between the two.

Intelligence (or double standards, in your case most of the time) has nothing to do with this. The fact is that Haye is a *****cat compared to Toney, Mayorga, Tyson and Ali.

(And yes, predictably someone might come along and edit that last part to say something else, but the point was made.)

Boring boxers who run from their opponents without throwing hardly any punches hurt the popularity of boxing.

But I found a use for the Haye fight! In the past, I used a Corey Spinks fight when I had trouble falling asleep - but now I'll use Haye-Valuev. The fight should be marketed as the cure for insomnia.
