  • The difference between Haye and Dirrell.

I know they fought similar fights, but Haye had good reason to hit and run this reason is 7 feet tall and 7 stone heavier than him, it was the tactics needed for a fight like this, and more impressive in the heavyweight division.

Dirrell had no reason to fight like this, himself and Froch were the same size, weight and height, give or take a little bit. He had no reason to run like he did.

Haye was dwarfed by a giant, Dirrell wasn't.

Haye did what he had to do being in the situation he was in and still actually impressed me by being able to hurt a man with a good chin who outweighs him by 100lbs. Dirrell was flailing around, holding excessively, and purposely falling to the floor to avoid inside fighting....not to mention being manhandled by Froch at points in the fight....Haye was just on his bicycle which was smart.....he usually fight in a more brazen manner with opponent his size.

Skip to 0:54 to see Dirrell's tactics against Froch. Andre must have watched the tape.

And Froch should have gotten a point deducted for all the hitting to the back of the head and for piledriving Dirrell.

I understand what you are saying, but you can apply the reasons (Haye keeping distance) to Dirrell as well.
Dirrell kept distance (and smothered) because Froch is a power puncher. So in order to neutralize Froch's asset (power),he had to employ this style as well.It was a part of defense and took Froch out of his game.
People can sit and argue about how someone's style didnt mesh well with the others and how it looked awful, but at the end of the day, they both used tactics that would defend themselves (and give themselves advantages) instead of standing in front of thier opponents and take a beating....you can't give one person allowances and disfavour or penalize another for employing the same strategies just because of certain physical disadvantages, after all, boxing is about utilizing your potential advantages (speed, strength, stamina, size, etc, etc) to thier maximum against the opponent.
