Dawson Decisions Johnson..Again; Angulo Flattens Yorgey

By Jake Donovan - Bring on the young guns.

Fans have for years been screaming for the light heavyweight division to get younger. Undefeated southpaw Chad Dawson is doing his part to bring the average age closer to 25 than 35, scoring his second straight rematch win over an elder statesmen, trumping Glen Johnson via 12-round unanimous decision Saturday evening at the XL Center in Hartford, CT. Dawson put up a good performance in this fight. But I can't help but to see that Glen Johnson looked very old tonight. No zip on his punches hardly at all and he kept getting off balance and not throwing a stiff jab except for a couple rounds. He will become a gate keeper now for fighters like Tavoris Cloud and Nathan Cleverly and those guys will beat him in more exciting fashion than Dawson did. I hate it when this happens to one of my faves.

I enjoyed the Angulo fight, Angulo is a great fighter who gives the fans their moneys worth. Dawson on the other hand fights like a scared little boy who fights for himself and no one else.

Calzaghe beats them both within 6 rds but he is just an old whiteboy, lol. He would whoop them both fairly easily though- truth!!

Angulo looked like a rabid perro tonite,he goes for the ****king kill.would like to see him fight again with the bigger names at 154. He nearly popped yorgey head clean off. As for the chad fight, thought he won at least 10 of the 12 rounds, dont know what the judges were looking at. Would like to him fight cloud, cloud is like a heavier version of berto, maybe the more uptempo fighter will speed up chad and put on a great fight.I think since he called out b hop , he mite fite him after jones fite ,depending outcome.I think that would be a slow methodical fight like tonite ,

Johnson again complained about the judging? what did he say in his post fight interview?

Thankfully, HBO didn't interview him after the fight. If there's a post-fight presser, I'm sure he'll find the nearest soapbox to mount and cry robbery, but honestly, he should be grateful that Duane Ford and Michael Pernick are horrible in their roles in the sport.

Johnson don't have a leg to stand on in this one. He still got robbed in the first fight though.
