Dawson Decisions Johnson..Again; Angulo Flattens Yorgey

even watching the first fight over again Johnson came across as a baby.

"everyone knows watching at home I won the fight" ... must be really confident or dillusional to say that

Glen deserved more then 4 rounds in the first go .. but to say something that bold is rediculous

Angulo looked good, as he has, with a fighter who is willing to stand in front of him and exchange. Yorgey believed he was going to win and really had no other reason to feel otherwise. He has a large following, as you could here from the roar of the crowd. He has had some inactivity in his career due to managerial and promotional issues which leads to bad match-ups. Yorgey is a young 31 and can still improve. This was his first fight under trainer Jack Loew so we'll see what comes of that. Yorgey has the heart of a champion and proved that he will be a warrior and not go down easily.

Dawson is interesting. We want to like him. He has the entire tool kit to get the win. I was glad to see that attrition did not play into this fight. He was well conditioned so hopefully he can take what he did right in this fight to his next fight. There is mention of Cloud, Pascal, Erdei (who won't leave Germany) among others. This is my take: Cloud is young, yes he is a brawler and a lot like Berto but he is young. He hasn't been in the ring with someone as skilled as Dawson. Dawson can box and I think his boxing and athletic ability will make Cloud look bad at this point in Cloud's career. To me the most interesting fight is Dawson against the Pascal/Diacanu II winner. I think Pascal will get the victory once again so this is how I will go with it. Pascal, like Dawson, is athletic. He has fast hands with good footwork. Pascal will engage in the action which in turn will force Dawson to counter. I see an action fight honestly. Much like Pascal/Froch and Pascal/Diacanu I, this fight would be action.

Things I didn't like last night: Dawson switching from southpaw to orthodox to southpaw.

I enjoyed the Angulo fight, Angulo is a great fighter who gives the fans their moneys worth. Dawson on the other hand fights like a scared little boy who fights for himself and no one else.

Watchng the fight I was thinking the same thing; the guy has skills but boy is he boring to watch just like Floyd

Yorgey was a young 31, as a fighter he was aged quite a bit facing Angulo. This type of loss causes all kinds of damage, loss of credibility means less pay. Think about it, back to the drawing board at 31.

Regardless of the quality of the fights themselves, the descriptions of the action that took place has been witty, evocative, particularly on the Dawson-Johnson fight. I strongly disagree with many of your opinions, Jake, but your writing shines.
