cotto, pac, and shane mosley have picked up things from floyd and i've noticed this a while ago.....shane started to use the jab to the body after floyd, but shane does it sloppy---pac used the hit and ducked under a punch against hatton---something floyd did against many of his opponents but a lot against baldomir---andof course pac did it sloppy----cotto tried the shoulder roll against margarito a lot and i bet he uses it against pac----many fighters like clottey and dawson and other fighters have tried to mimick floyd...it's a testament to his skill--that's all...
Mayweather is single-handedly making the sport of boxing evolve

Haye stated several times before the fight that he was going to follow the blueprint created by Evander Holyfield to defeat Valuev.
The Mayweather-Marquez match-up wasn't even remotely similar to what Haye faced against Valuev.Comment

Of course all of these fighters were just copying Floyd and not using basic boxing techniques that have been around for centuries.cotto, pac, and shane mosley have picked up things from floyd and i've noticed this a while ago.....shane started to use the jab to the body after floyd, but shane does it sloppy---pac used the hit and ducked under a punch against hatton---something floyd did against many of his opponents but a lot against baldomir---andof course pac did it sloppy----cotto tried the shoulder roll against margarito a lot and i bet he uses it against pac----many fighters like clottey and dawson and other fighters have tried to mimick floyd...it's a testament to his skill--that's all...
Landing and ducking under a punch, what a genius that Floyd Mayweather is for inventing such a thing!Comment

Fighters are watching him and picking things up. he might not have invented shoulder roll but he has people mimicking him, he might not have been the first to have head movement but i see haye copying him vs JMM against valuev. its not just 2 people doing the same hting you can clearly see people mimicking floyd in training and in the ring. He might not be your fav fighter.. but he is making everyone that watches better at boxing. Just something I thought of while watching haye vs valuev.. You can agree or disagree but I have been in the ring myself and have some knowledge of what skills some people do and don't have. Who's the boxer that everyone was mad at for coming in overweight, dark guy from south america or something? He clearly copies floyd in training. Garuntee he wasnt doing that **** on the pads before. Im not saying anyone with skills copies floyd or anyone good at boxing copies floyd. Just sometimes it's obvious to me. Some good fighters copy tyson, foreman. Floyd style isnt the only good one. I'm just saying he's educating people and making them think.
p.s. you can learn a thing or two from many well-known fighters, not just the ones known for skill. you're better off learning the basics first anyways
