TS, the most deadly mistake you can make is to underestimate your opponent.

A great boxer with devastating strength, may be able to punch you into unconsiousness even if you have them on their back. And a boxer with knockout power in both their fists..ungloved..could catch you coming in and put you out.

Furthermore..whenever guys try to go for a takedown against me.. I just push down on their back as they come in as I backpedal, and make them do a faceplant... of course, thats not a boxing move, its MA.. But against boxers you have to watch being caught as you come in.

Also, you say history proves this or that. But you are talking about very RECENT history, aren't you?

False... there is a difference between MMA boxing and real boxing. MMA boxers train and hold their stance to avoid takedowns, traditional boxers do not.

99 time out of 100 I would score a takedown before any clean punch was landed - giving me the significant edge against any boxer.

I remember this thread that, the massive 220lb wrestler made about himself beating up any boxer.....with the magical takedown which is totally impossible for anyone without years of training to defend because taking a step back, to the side, or pivoting are techniques that not only the average pro boxer have never been exposed to but ATGs have not either.
